MAINTENANCE INFORMATION
Regular inspection:
- Always keep compression jaw sets, expander heads and cylinder
clean If they are dirty, clean them with a brush and apply oil to them
Store the tool in a dry place following this
- Check the compression jaw sets, the expander tools and the tool for
damage or visible wear prior to each use Damaged tools must no
longer be used and are to be sent for repair to an authorised service
centre immediately
- Ensure that the compression jaw sets are applied fully, across the
entire surface and at a right angle and the compression sleeve is
completely pushed up to the fitting collar during the compression
process
- Regularly grease the taper of the expander tools Do not apply any
grease to the surface of the expanding segments! If excess grease is
applied to the expanding segments, the segments have to be cleaned
thoroughly (e g petroleum ether) and subsequently dried
Grease the inside of the cylinder regularly (tube of lubricant is enclosed) whilst
keeping the outer surface of the cylinder dry. Compression jaws are not
greased.
Grease the taper of the expander tools regularly (tube of lubricant is supplied
with the tool). Do not apply too much grease to the taper to avoid any grease
getting into the pipe.
Attention:
Do not apply any grease to the expansion segments which come into contact
with the pipe! Keep the outer surfaces free from grease.
Repairs:
Risk of accidents!
Do not carry out any repairs on the tool yourself Repairs must only be
carried out by an authorised service centre
Storage:
Never store tools wet! Dry the tool and apply oil to it Store the tool in a
dry place following this
