• RECORD/PLAYBACK HEAD AZIMUTH
(See Figure 14-1 )
1. Connect load resistor (3.2 ohm, 5W,
ternal Speaker socket J601 (and J602) and connect out-
puts of both the right and left channels to the channel I
and channel 2 input terminals of oscilloscope.
2. Insert the test tape (MT T.114, 10kHz,

3. Set the Dolby NR switch SW201 to the off position
and Tape Selector switch SW203 and SW204 to Normal
position.
4. Place the unit in Playback mode.
5. Adjust the head azimuth adjusting screw so that sine
waveform attains the maximum
right and left.

Note:
For some heads, there may be a phase difference
right and left channels when the output is made maximum.
In this case, adjust the head azimuth so that such phase
difference will be as small as possible while keeping the out-

PLAYBACK SENSITIVITY ADJUSTMENT

I. Connect an Electronic Voltmeter between Record/PIay-
backDINSocket J1033 Pin(or@ Pin)and 2 Pin
(ground).
2. Insert the test tape (MTT-150, 400Hz, 200pWb/mm
recorded
3. Set the Dolby NR switch SW201 to the off position
and Tape Selector switch SW203 and SW204 to the
Normal position.
4. Adjust the semi-variable resistor VRIOI (or V RI 02) so
that the Electronic Voltmeter readingbecomes580mV.

1. Connect an Electronic Voltmeter between Record/PIay-

3. Place the unit in Record mode. Set the Record Mode

switch SW202 to manual position and adjust the record
volume control VR103A (or V R103B) so that the
Electronic Voltmeter will indicate 580mV.
4. Adjust the sensitivity adjustment control V R107 (or
V R108) so that the 4th LED of the level meter will
light up.
