The TKS knee orthosis helps control
structural instabilities of the knee by
supporting the physiological movement
of the knee joint. The orthosis consists of
two lateral aluminum braces which are lin-
ked by two aluminum straps. The padded
lining of the orthosis offers a high level of
wearing comfort. On the front of the leg,
an aluminum straps runs across the thigh
above the knee, on the back of the leg, the
second aluminum strap runs across the
calf below the knee. The upper fastening
is positioned at the back of the thigh. It is
closed with a strong textile strap. The bot-
tom fastening is positioned on the front of
the lower leg. It features an anatomically
shaped, cushioned pad which helps avoid
too much pressure on the tibia. The knee
joint's range of motion can be manipulated
by adjusting the connections between the
aluminum straps and the lateral braces,
and by adjusting the fastenings.
