STEPS
Set a step to be an LFO outputting a trapezoid wave,
and use it to gate another step or step combination.
The STEPS can be set up to act as an additive VCO, by
linking the in and out headers or jack sockets together.
When it is set up in this way the voltage slider for step
1 acts as a coarse tuning control, with the SHAPE/TIME
control as fine tune. Its CV input tracks volt/octave. The
other sliders adjust harmonic amplitude, and the other
SHAPE/TIME controls adjust ratios. The VCO's main out
is that of step 1, with the other steps outputting their
respective harmonics individually. The MODE buttons
are used to select the waveforms:
Green continuous – sine
Orange continuous – triangle
Red continuous – square
Green flashing – sawtooth
Orange flashing – 25% pulse
Red flashing – 10% pulse
The individual harmonics can be emphasized by sending a
gate to their GATE inputs.
If using the jack sockets for linkage be sure to use a TRS
lead, otherwise the link will not work.
Any step can be turned into a tunable VCO by pressing
and holding its MODE button for more than three
seconds. The voltage slider is used for tuning, and
produces a C4 at its mid point, with the flashing of its
LED indicating how close to the note it is. SHAPE/TIME is
used to select the waveform, running through triangle,
sawtooth, blended sawtooth and square, square with
variable pulse width. The VCO output is bipolar -5 V to
+5 V.

Connect end P1 to the module socket
Connect end P2 to the power supply
The module comes with the required power cable for
connecting to a standard Eurorack power supply system.
Follow these steps to connect power to the module. It is
easier to make these connections before the module has been
mounted into a rack case.
1.
Turn the power supply or rack case power off and
disconnect the power cable.
2.
Insert the 16-pin connector on the power cable into the
socket on the power supply or rack case. The connector
has a tab that will align with the gap in the socket, so it
cannot be inserted incorrectly. If the power supply does
not have a keyed socket, be sure to orient pin 1 (-12 V)
with the red stripe on the cable.
3.
Insert the 10-pin connector into the socket on the back
of the module. The connector has a tab that will align
with the socket for correct orientation.
4.
After both ends of the power cable have been securely
attached, you may mount the module in a case and turn
on the power supply.
