Formatting and partitioning a new hard drive
After configuring the RAID mode, the drives need to undergo formatting and partitioning. The specific
steps may vary slightly based on the system version. Below are a few examples:
For Windows
®
1. Right click "Disk Management" > right-click the newly added drive, and select "Initialize Disk" in
the pop-up menu > then select "MBR" or "GPT" partition format and click "OK" in the "Initialize
Disk" window.
Note
If your drive capacity is below 2 TB, select MBR, otherwise, select GPT.
2. Right-click "New Simple Volume", follow the wizard and click "Next" until "Finish" shows up.
Please select "NTFS" as the file system format. After the formatting is completed, the new partition
drive will be displayed in the resource manager.
