7. Basic Operation

7.1 Switching on/off

» To switch on, press the on/off
button (A). The LED display (C)
goes on. This instrument
default mode is set to "000
Acoustic Grand Piano" timbre
and 120 tempo.
» To switch off, depress the
on/off button (A) to the off
position. The LED display (C)
goes off.

7.2 Adjusting volume

Use the MASTER VOL button
on the left control panel (B) to
adjust volume level from 1 to 16
(1 is lowest and 16 is highest). The
default volume set to level 12.
Press the [-] button to decrease
volume, or [+] to increase volume.
The LED display (C) shows
VOLUME and corresponding
volume level.

7.3 Selecting demo song

This instrument provides 50 demo songs for your selection
(from 000 to 049).
To play a demo song:
1� Press the DEMO SONG button on the right control panel (F).
The LED display (C) shows SONG. Demo song plays in order
from song 000.
2� Press the [-] button to play previous song, or [+] to play next
song on the right control panel (F).
3� Alternatively, enter 3-digit song code on the right control
panel (F). The corresponding demo song code appears on the
LED display (C).
4� To stop demo song playback press the START/STOP button
on the left control panel (B).

manual.

7.4 Turning on the keyboard percussion

This function is intended to play
realistic drum sounds, percussion
sounds, and various sound effects
directly from the keyboard. This
instrument provides 61 percussion
sounds for your selection. When
enabled, each key on the keyboard
becomes a different percussion
instrument.

1� To turn the keyboard percussion on, press the KEYBOARD
PERCUSSION button on the bottom control panel (H).
2� To turn the keyboard percussion off, press the KEYBOARD
PERCUSSION button on the bottom control panel (H) again.
    NOTICE   Percussion effect icons are printed on the
keyboard above each key. Full list of available percussion
effect can be found in "Appendix II - Percussion Effects" on
page 17 in this manual.

7.5 Selecting timbre

This instrument provides 255 timbres for your selection (from
000 to 254).
To select a desired timbre:
1� Press the TIMBRE button on the right control panel (F). The
LED display (C) shows TONE. The default timbre is "000
Acoustic Grand Piano"�
2� Press the [-] button to select previous timbre, or [+] to select
next timbre on the right control panel (F).
3� Alternatively, enter 3-digit timbre code on the right control
panel (F). The corresponding timbre code appears on the LED
display (C).

    NOTICE   Timbre codes 000 to 092 are listed on the
keyboard. Timbre codes of 093 to 254 can be found in
"Appendix III - Timbre Codes" on page 18 in this manual.

7.6 Setting tempo

This function is intended to adjust
the tempo (from 30 to 240) while
playing a demo song, a rhythm,
a programmed rhythm or when
using a metronome.
To adjust a tempo:
1� Press the [-] button to
decrease tempo, or [+] to
increase tempo on the left
control panel (B).
2� The corresponding tempo value appears on the LED
display (C).
3� Simultaneously press the [-] and [+] buttons on the left
control panel (B) to return to a default tempo.
