Unsuitable locations for wireless operation
The specified operating range of up to 100 meters is the
unobstructed operation range between transmitter and receiver.
However, in most cases the range is reduced due to buildings or
vegetation, walls, ceilings, radio frequency interference.
In the vicinity of solid steel beams, large metal surfaces, or
similar as they could significantly inhibit the transmission or
reception of the wireless signal. Moving the detector by just a
few centimeters can often be a great help here.
The wireless smoke detector may not be used in medical
facilities containing lifesaving systems.
Audibility
It is important that you can hear the detectors at any place in
your building and that the smoke detector really has to wake
you up. Adapt the number or the arrangement of the detectors
to achieve full protection.
Notice!
Any modifications to the surroundings may influence the
functionality of the detector. The detector does not indicate
automatically a reduced operating range or even the loss of the
radio network connection. Check the functionality of the
detector by testing the radio network and by triggering a test
alarm. For optimizing the signal transmission you may
consolidate the radio network by mounting yet another
detector or by transferring one or several detectors. Optionally
you may network up to 5 detectors using wires.

Commissioning

After you have determined the appropriate mounting locations,
you have to install and commission the detectors. Follow the
required steps, which are explained in detail in this chapter:
