Energy cost meter „Premium"
The "Premium" energy cost meter allows you to find the "power guzzling" devices in your home or
Officeboth quickly and easily By replacing these devices with energy-savingdevices (such as classA,
A+, A++),you can save moneyand make an important contribution to the environment.
Example: By replacing an older refrigerator (approx. 15 years old) with an energy-saving A++ device,
you can save up to 300kWh annually or up to EUR60(based on atariff OfEUR0.20/kWh)
The device also displaysthe current values of the mainsvoltage, amperage,mainsfrequency andthe
power factor. You can also take a reading of the minimum and maximum power
consumption during the measurement period.
Readthe safety instructions and notes carefully before using your energy cost meter.
Important safety instructions:
The voltage and power of the connected devices mustnot exceed 230V or 3680W, respectively
Please note the information printed on the type plate of the connected devices.
Make sure that the pass-through protective conductor is not blocked In the case Of a fault, this could
result in fatal injury Connectthe device only to an electrical socket that has been
approved for the device. The electrical socket must always be easily accessible
The device is not protected against drops or splashes Ofwater. TO avoid damaging the device and to
prevent injuries due to short circuits, do not let the product come into contact with rain, moisture or
other liquids. We do not recommend that you operate this device in environments exposed to flammable
gases, fumes or dust.
When cleaning the device, make surethat it is disconnected from power. Do not operatethis device in
a moist environment
Never use or open a defective device. Only authorised specialists may perform repairs. Keep this
device, as all electronic devices, out of the reach of children.
We shall not accept any liability for damage to materials or injury to persons resulting from
non-observance Ofthese safety instructions or improper use. The "Premium" energy cost meter is not
approvedfor the calculation of power costs for billing purposes.
1. Getting Started
Your energy cost meter is readyfor operation in just a few steps.
When starting up the device for the first time, you need enter your power tariff (price per kilowatt
hour,EUR/kWh)Youcan find this information on your most recent electricity bill, or you can ask your
electricity company
Plugthe "Premium" energy cost meter (without a consumersuch as aTV) into a standard CEE 7/4
("Schuko") electrical socket (230V/50 Hz)
Pressand holdthe "COST" button for at least 3 seconds in order to switch to input mode
The four-digit display "COST/kWh" flashes
Pressthe "FUNCTION"buttonto select the individual digits for entry Ofyour electricity price (EUR/kWH,
e g. 0.20ct/kWh). Set the required value usingthe "UP" and "DOWN" buttons. Then pressthe "FUNC
TION" button again to jump to the next digit.
Press the "COST" button to save your entries and exit input mode
2. Measuring
Plugthe electrical deviceto be measured(such as a TV) into your "Premium" energy cost meter
The consumptionmeasurementsstart automatically. Youcan switch between the different displays
by pressing the "FUNCTION" button. The measurement ends as soon as you unplug or switch off the
connected device or disconnect the "Premium" energy cost meter from the mains
The built-in battery keepsthe measuredvalues in memoryeven after the meter has been disconnected,
allowing them to be analysed conveniently at any time
