ORIGINAL INSTRUCTIONS
Safety, performance, and dependability have been
given top priority in the design of your jump starter.
INTENDED USE
The jump starter is designed to supply electrical
power for jump starting vehicles.
The product may be used indoors or outdoors.
The product is compatible with 12 V systems only.
The product is designed to jump start 6 L gasoline
vehicle engines and 5 L diesel vehicle engines.
The product is not intended to jump start any other
type of battery or be used as a power supply. It is not
intended to be used with dry cell batteries (commonly
used with home appliances). It should never be used
in explosive or fl ammable environments.
Do not use the product for any other purpose.
JUMP STARTER SAFETY WARNINGS
■
Read all safety warnings and all instructions. Failure
to follow the warnings and instructions may result
in electric shock, fire, and/or serious injury. Save all
warnings and instructions for future reference.
■
Risk of explosive gases. Working in the vicinity
of a lead-acid battery is dangerous. Vehicle
batteries generate explosive gases during
normal battery operation. For this reason, it
is of the utmost importance that you follow the
instructions each time you use the product.
To reduce the risk of battery explosion, follow
these instructions and those published by the
battery manufacturer and manufacturer of any
equipment you intend to use in the vicinity of
the battery. Review cautionary marking on
these products and on the engine. Unmonitored,
incompatible, or damaged batteries can explode
if used with the product. Do not leave the product
unattended while in use.
■
Do not attempt to jump start a damaged
or frozen battery. Use the product only with
batteries for recommended voltage.
■
Do not use the product to jump start a vehicle
while charging the vehicle battery.
■
The product may emit electromagnetic fields
and could affect pacemakers, defibrillators,
and other medical devices.
■
To reduce the risk of injury, close supervision is
necessary when the product is used near children.
Keep the product out of the reach of children.
■
The use of an attachment not recommended
by the manufacturer may result in a risk of fire,
electric shock, or injury to persons.
■
The product must not be damp and should
never be used in a damp environment.
■
Do not cover any ventilation slots, and provide
adequate ventilation during operation.
■
Wear complete eye protection and clothing
protection. Avoid touching eyes while working
near a vehicle battery.
■
Before using the product, check that the
enclosure, cables, and clamps are not damaged.
If damage is found, do not use the product and
bring it to an authorised service centre for repair.
■
Do not use the product if it has suffered any heavy
shock or jolting, or if it is damaged in any other way.
■
Do not operate the product while tired, ill, or under
the influence of drugs, alcohol, or medication.
A moment of inattention while operating the
product may result in serious personal injury.
■
Do not operate the product in explosive
atmospheres, such as in the presence of
flammable liquids, gases, or dust. The product
creates sparks that may ignite the dust or fumes.
■
Never modify, disassemble, or attempt to
repair the product yourself.
■
Do not place the product directly on top of the
vehicle battery that is being jumped. Place the
product as far away as the cables permit.
■
Do not jump start a vehicle battery if you do
not know its voltage or chemistry.
■
Attach the output cables to a vehicle battery
and chassis as instructed. Never allow the
output clamps to touch one another.
■
Consider having someone close by to come
to your aid when you work near a lead-acid
vehicle battery.
■
Have plenty of fresh water, soap, and baking
soda nearby in case battery acid contacts
skin, clothing, or eyes.
■
If battery acid contacts skin or clothing, wash
immediately with soap and water. If acid enters
eye, immediately flood eye with running cold
water for at least 10 minutes and get medical
attention immediately.
■
Never smoke or allow a spark or flame in the
vicinity of the vehicle battery or engine.
■
Be extra cautious to reduce risk of dropping
a metal tool onto the vehicle battery. It might
spark or short-circuit the battery or other
electrical part that may cause explosion.
■
Remove personal metal items such as rings,
bracelets, necklaces, and watches when
working with a lead-acid battery. A lead-acid
vehicle battery can produce a short-circuit
current high enough to weld a ring or the like
to metal, causing a severe burn.
■
To reduce the risk of short circuits, always place the
clamps on the designated holders after each use.
