Intended usage
The calibration source CS 1200 is used for the calibration and the inspection of infrared
thermometers (pyrometers) and infrared cameras for non-contact temperature
measurement within the temperature range from 300 °C to 1200 °C. The infrared
calibration source PYROTHERM CS 1500 is used for the calibration and verification of
pyrometers and infrared cameras within the temperature range from 300 °C to 1500 °C,
especially in the near infrared range (NIR) at 0.8 µm to 1.8 µm wavelength.
Use and maintenance
The use of the device is restricted to qualified personnel which has got instructions before
initial operation and handling. Instructions should be given by a supervisor or optionally
by DIAS Infrared GmbH customer service.
Safety instructions
Caution – very hot!
The opening and the cover of the calibration source and different parts of the housing can
get very hot during the operation. Please avoid touching these parts.
Danger by infrared radiation!
Avoid direct looking into the opening of the calibration source. Infrared radiation can
damage your eyes. Wear eye protection if necessary.
Fire hazard!
Please make sure to have enough space (> 30 cm) between the aperture of the calibration
source and inflammable materials.
Do not let any materials or liquids touch the hot radiator surface. Do not use any
compressed air to accelerate the cooling. In both cases the radiator can be destroyed.
Ventilation
The calibration source has an active air ventilation. It is cooled by the louvers on the
housing and the thereby arising heat exchange. Do never cover the louvers. Despite the
cooling the housing can heat up. This is normal. Please consider the security advices.
Control parameters
Improperly modified control parameters can lead to an overshooting of the temperature
and therefor to the destruction of the device. In this case any warranty expires!
