QUICK OPERATION
Setting The Clock
The time display flashes, the CLOCK indicator lights and the STANDBY
indicator lights when the power cord is connected to the outlet.
Example: Setting the time to 7:30 p.m.
1.
Hold in the MEMORY button and press the CLOCK/FREQ button.
The hours place starts flashing.
2.
Press the UP or DOWN button to set the hours to "19".

Press the MEMORY button.

The minutes place starts flashing.

Press the UP or DOWN button to set the minutes to "30".

Press the MEMORY button.
The set time is displayed.
Basic Adjustments
Before switching on the power to the cassette receiver, follow the steps
below to protect the speakers from damage.
Refer to Fig. 5, to locate the controls.
Set the VOLUME control to "0".
Set the BALANCE control to its center position.
Set the MULTI TONE controls to their center positions.
Switch on the cassette receiver's POWER switch.
Make sure that the VOLUME LEVEL indicator is not flashing.
If the VOLUME
LEVEL
indicator is flashing, aim the remote
control at the cassette
receiver, turn down the volume
and
press the remote
control's
MUTING
or VOLUME
UP button to
switch it off.
NOTE:
Be sure to install the remote control batteries.

Sound will now be heard through the speakers when the vol-
ume is turned up.

Set the VOLUME control to "0".

Switch on the cassette receiver's power.

Press the TUNER FUNCTION Select button.

The TUNER FUNCTION indicator lights.
4.
Press the MW/LW or FM-1/2/3 button to select the desired broad-
cast band.
5.
Press the UP button to increase the frequency, the DOWN button
to decrease the frequency.
About 5 seconds after a station is tuned in, the frequency dis-
appears and the current time reappears.
6.
Press the CLOCK/FREQ button to switch between the current time
or frequency display.
When the current time is displayed, the frequency is displayed
for about 5 seconds
when
any of the MW/LW,
FM-1/2/3, or
STATION buttons is pressed.
7.
Adjust the VOLUME, BALANCE and MULTI TONE controls for the
desired sound.
Checking The Cassettes
Before inserting a cassette into either deck, make sure that the tape
has no slack. If the tape has slack, use a pencil or similar object to take
it up on one of the reels (Fig. 3).

Playing A Tape
Set the VOLUME control to "0".

Switch on the cassette receiver's power.

Press the TAPE FUNCTION Select button.
The TAPE FUNCTION indicator lights.
4.
Press either STOP/EJECT button to open a cassette compartment.
5.
Insert a prerecorded tape into the compartment with the exposed
tape facing down, and the side to be played facing you.
Gently press in on the cassette compartment door to close it.
Set the DOLBY NR switch correctly:

ON: To play tapes recorded using DOLBY noise reduction.
OFF: To play all other tapes.

Set either DIRECTION MODE switch to the desired mode.
2. (One- 'way mode): For playing one side of a tape.

_The Direction Select switch will not operate in this mode.
va (One-cycle mode): For playing both sides of a tape.
«= (Continuous-play mode): For continuous playback, until the
STOP/EJECT button is pressed.

Press the PLAY button.

Adjust the cassette
receiver's
VOLUME,
BALANCE
and
MULTI
TONE controls for the desired sound.
11.
Press the STOP/EJECT button at any time to stop the tape.
NOTE:
The deck will stop by itself at the end of the forward or reverse
side of the tape during One-way or One-cycle mode playback.
Pistening To Records
Set the cassette receiver's VOLUME contro! to "0".

Switch on the power to the cassette receiver and turntable.

Press the PHONO FUNCTION Select button.
The PHONO FUNCTION indicator lights.
4.
Play a record on the turntable.
5.
Adjust the cassette
receiver's
VOLUME,
BALANCE
and
MULTI
TONE controls for the desired sound.
NOTE:
Refer to the turntable's operating instructions manual.

Set the cassette receiver's VOLUME control to "0".

Switch on the power to the cassette receiver and CD player.
3.
Press the CD player's PLAY/PAUSE button. Disc play will begin.
The CD FUNCTION indicator lights.
4.
Adjust the cassette
receiver's VOLUME,
BALANCE
and
MULTI
TONE controls for the desired sound.
NOTE:
Refer to the CD player's operating instructions manual.
Cassette Tapes
a)
Fisher recommends
using only brand
name
tapes in this unit
(TDK, MAXELL, etc.).
b)
Use C-30, C-60, or C-90 tapes.
Fisher does not recommend the use of C-120 tapes.
c)
Any of the following types of tape may be used:
1. Norma! tapes (Fe203).
2. Chromium dioxide (CrO3), or equivalent tapes.
NOTE:
DECK 1 automatically senses the type of tape being used.
Preventing Accidental Erasure
Tape cassettes have two erase guard tabs on the back (Fig. 4).
