This manual is designed to provide all the necessary information and
instructions
for successful
operation
of your FISHER
Cassette
Re-
ceiver. If you are installing the unit yourself, please pay careful atten-
tion to the section on connecting the cassette receiver to other units in
your sound system.
Complete
information
is given on the following
pages.
This unit has been adjusted for operation on AC 220V, 50Hz.
Your FISHER Cassette Receiver is designed to be insensitive to tem-
perature and voitage changes
under normal
conditions.
For longer
service
life and operating
safety, the unit should
not be placed near
sources of extreme heat (close to heating units, radiators, or in direct
sunlight), or areas
of high humidity or moisture.
Voltage fluctuations
greater
than
+10%
can
iead
to poor
performance
or
breakdown.
Should you have questions on these points, please ask your FISHER
dealer for further information.
Follow the connection and operating instructions carefully in a step-
by-step manner
and within a short time, you will have gained
all the
knowledge needed for successful operation of your FISHER cassette
receiver.
Before you switch on your unit for the first time, please check that all
connections
and installation
requirements
have been completed. The
VOLUME control should be set to the 0 (minimum) position.

Safety Tips
1.
Location:
For safe operation
and satisfactory performance
of the cassette
receiver, keep the following in mind when selecting a place for its
installation:
@
Shelter it from direct sunlight and keep it away from sources
of intense heat.
@
Avoid dusty and humid locations.
®
Avoid places with insufficient ventilation for heat dissipation.

When handling the power cord:
@
Do not handle the power cord with wet hands.
@
Do not pull on the power cord when
disconnecting
it from the
AC wall outlet. Grasp it at the plug.
3.
Built-in AC outlet:
The
SWITCHED
AC outlet on the cassette
receiver's
rear panel
has a total power rating of 100W maximum. tt is designed for con-
necting another audio system unit only.
4.
Avoiding the hazards of electricat shock or fire:
If water is accidentally spilled on the cassette receiver, unplug the
power cord immediately and have the unit serviced by FISHER-
authorized personnel.
5.
Do not drop pieces of metal into the cassette receiver.
Needles,
coins
and
other
electrically conductive
materials
may
cause problems if they get into the cassette receiver.
6.
When changing the connections:
Be sure to switch off the power at the source when changing the
connections to the input terminals.
This precaution is necessary to protect the speakers, which may
be damaged by a sudden increase in input.
8.
Cleaning:
Stains should be removed
by wiping the surfaces with a soft cloth
immersed in lukewarm water and wrung dry. Never use a solvent
or alcohol.
Do not spray
insecticide
tiquid near
the cassette
re-
ceiver.
Such
chemicals
may
cause
surface
discoloration
and
cracking.
Remote Control Battery Installation (Fig. 1)
Remove the rear cover of the remote control by sliding it in the direc-
tion of the arrow.
Install two AAA
(Microzelle,
R03) size batteries (not
included) while observing the correct polarity [match the (+) and (—)
signs]. If the batteries are installed incorrectly, the remote control will
not operate and damage
may result. Replace the rear cover.
CAUTION:
Remove the batteries from the remote control if it will not be used for,
a long period of time. Worn-out batteries may leak and damage the re- |
mote control.

Connections
CAUTION:
@
Do not piug the cassette receiver's power cord into an AC wall
outlet until after all connections have been made.
@
Do not place other components on top of the cassette receiver.
@
Be sure to make the correct connections paying attention to the L
{left channel), R (right channel), (+) and (—) marks. Plug in the
cables
and connect
the lead wires securely.
Loose
connections
wiil result in unsatisfactory sound
reproduction or cause
noise
problems.
1.
Connect the supplied FM antenna to the center pin of the cassette
receiver's ANTENNA
terminal
marked
"FM
(75Q)" as shown
in
Fig. 2.
2.
Connect the turntable's white plug to the L (left) PHONO jack and
the red plug to the R (right) PHONO jack on the cassette receiver
as shown in Fig. 2.
3.
Connect the cable supplied with the CD player to the cassette re-
ceiver's CD jacks as shown in Fig. 2.

Pay attention to the L and R labels.

Connect the white plugs to the L (left) jacks and the red plugs
to the R (right) jacks.
4.
Connect the remote control cable supplied with this unit as shown
in Fig. 2.
5.
Connect speakers to the cassette receiver's SPEAKER terminals
as shown in Fig. 2.
1) Press on the lever and insert the speaker cable.
2) Once the cable is inserted, release the lever.
CAUTION:
~
Be carefu! not to cause a short circuit between the speaker
terminals.

This unit is designed for main speakers with an impedance of
5 ohms and surround speakers with an impedance of 10 ~ 16
ohms.
6.
Set the POWER switches on all of the units to off.
Set the cassette receiver's VOLUME control to "0".
