14.5 Operator duties
All persons who have been instructed to work with the machine undertake to:
observe the basic regulations for health and safety and for the prevention of accidents;
read and understand the section on safety and the safety instructions in these operating
instructions prior to working with the machine, and to observe these instructions.
14.6 Operator qualification
The installation, initial setting up, search for faults and periodic inspections are to be carried
out by a machining technician with appropriate professional qualification.
14.7 Personal protective equipment
15 Description of the clamping device
The grepos-5X has been designed for accurately clamping unprocessed and processed
workpieces. A wide range of accessories ensures the versatility of the equipment.
The force is generated purely mechanically. The power gear ratio is linear across the whole
clamping range. In order to increase the clamping force, mechanical force amplification
has been fitted.
In order to achieve a larger clamping range, the spindle is operated with a telescopic
mechanism and is protected against dirt thanks to complete encapsulation.
The operating torque of the lever is approx. 50 Nm for a clamping force of 40 kN.
Applying too much force to the drive either by impact or with extended levers leads
to damage to the force element.
Mounting and removing the grepos-5X is quick and easy.
15.1 Function
The grepos-5X is a direct clamping device. The quick adjustment is operated via a hermetically
sealed thread. The force is generated directly in a linear manner, using force amplification.
The clamping forces are variable and can be adjusted between 5 and 40 kN using the setting
ring. The clamping range depends on the type of jaw used and is variable between 0 and
max. 275 mm (with adapter and swivel plate).
It is possible to extend the clamping range by using additional extensions.
