Selecting the CTCSS code / CDCSS code

All the calls on walkie-talkies which occur within the range of
reception are signalled. A condition for this is that all the walkie-
talkies are set to the same channel. To prevent mutual interfer-
ence, a CTCSS code (analogue / 1 - 38) or a CDCSS code (dig-
ital / 39 - 121) can be defined for the set channel. 38 CTCSS
codes and 83 CDCSS codes can be set per channel.

Communication between the subscribers is only then possi-
ble when both parties are using the same channel and CTCSS /
CDCSS code.
An exception is CTCSS/CDCSS code "0". In the case of this
setting, all the calls on the set channel can be heard regardless
of the CTCSS/CDCSS code. To be able to participate in the
radio communication, it may be necessary to switch from
CTCSS/ CDCSS code "0" to the CTCSS/CDCSS code being
used.
