1. GENERAL SAFETY WARNINGS
FOR THE POWER TOOL
WARN ING!
CAUTION! Please read and familiar-
ize yourself with all safety warnings,
instructions, illustrations, and tech-
nical specifications provided with
this power tool. Failure to follow all
the instructions below may result in
electric shock, fire, and/or serious
bodily injury.
Keep all warnings and instructions
for future reference.
The term "electric tool" or "electric ma-
chine" in these warnings refers to your
mains-powered or cordless electric tool.
Workplace safety
Keep the work area clean and well-lit.
Clutter and inadequate lighting can lead
to accidents.
Do not use the electric tool in an explo-
sive atmosphere, such as near flammable
liquids, gases, or dust. Electric tools gen-
erate sparks that can ignite dust or va-
pors.
Keep children and bystanders away from
the working area of the electric machine.
Distractions can result in a loss of control
over the tool.
Electrical safety
The plug of the electric tool must match
the outlet. Under no circumstances
should you modify the plug. Do not use
any adapter plugs with grounded elec-
tric tools. Using unmodified plugs that
match the outlet reduces the risk of elec-
14
tric shock.
Do not touch grounded surfaces such as
pipes, radiators, electric stoves, and re-
frigerators. There is an increased risk of
electric shock if your body is grounded.
Do not expose electric tools to rain or
moisture. The risk of electric shock in-
creases when water enters the electric
tool.
Do not mishandle the power cord. Nev-
er use the power cord to carry, pull, or
turn off the electric tool. Avoid contact
between the cord and heat sources, oil,
sharp edges, or moving objects. Dam-
aged or twisted cords increase the risk of
electric shock.
When using electric tools outdoors, use
an extension cord suitable for outdoor
use. Using an outdoor-rated extension
cord reduces the risk of electric shock.
If working in a wet environment, use a
power source with a ground fault circuit
interrupter (GFCI). Using a GFCI reduces
the risk of electric shock.
Personal safety
Be vigilant, watch your actions, and use
common sense when working with elec-
tric tools. Do not use an electric tool if
you are tired or under the influence of
drugs, alcohol, or medication. Even the
slightest carelessness when working with
electric tools can lead to serious injury.
Use personal protective equipment. Al-
ways wear protective goggles. Using ap-
propriate protective equipment, such as
respirators, non-slip footwear, helmets,
or ear protection, reduces the likelihood
of injury.
Take precautions against unexpected
startup. Before connecting to a power
source and/or battery pack, and when
lifting or carrying the tool, the switch
should be in the off position. Do not keep
your finger on the switch while transport-
ing the tool and do not connect it to a
power source with the switch on.
Remove any adjustment key before turn-
ing on the electric tool. A key left on a ro-
tating part can cause injury.
Avoid stretching for warm-up exercises
while working, and always maintain sta-
bility and balance. This will ensure con-
