ELECTRICAL CONNECTION
DANGER – Risk of electrocution
Installation of a protection and control electrical panel is mandatory. This panel should include all re-
quired elements and other recommended ones, generally having:
1.
An omnipolar disconnection system (for all phases) with contacts opening at least 3mm apart.
2.
Motor overload protection devices against short circuits and overloads:
•
Use a motor protector with magneto-thermal protection.
•
Protect the pump against overload with a safety switch for the motor.
•
Adjust the thermal value according to the thermal protectors table. For the ∆ connection (3 x 230
V network), use the protector with the highest indicated value. For the Y connection (3 x 400 V
network), use the protector with the lowest value.
•
Connect the lower voltage in ∆ and the higher voltage in Y for voltage ranges different from
230/400V; 400/690V.
CAUTION
•
The electrical characteristics of the protection devices and their regulation must comply with those
of the motors to be protected and with the expected operating conditions for them. Follow the
manufacturer's instructions on the motor nameplate.
•
Properly position the motor winding interconnection bridges. (According to the following diagram
and the information on the motor nameplate). The pump motor has a ∆ or Y winding assembly
depending on the voltage supply.
•
Connect the pump motor to the control panel. Use insulated connectors, and ensure that all
connections are tight.
