Description
If the universal cable is used, press and hold the push-to-talk button on
the additionally connected PTT/RSM unit (e.g. Dräger C-C 440 or
Dräger C-C 550) to transmit a radio message. The push-to-talk button
integrated into the communication unit can be used here, for example,
to mute the voice amplifier. The configuration can be set in the C7
configuration software.
If a direct cable or Bluetooth connection is used, push and hold the
integrated push-to-talk button to transmit a radio message. The
integrated push-to-talk button can also be configured to mute the voice
amplifier when pressed briefly.
Voice clarity during radio transmission may be influenced by the radio
used. Take note of the radio-specific settings here.
Using the configuration software, it is possible to set that radio
messages sent by operation command are automatically forwarded to
all communication units belonging to the same group ("Forwarding
radio messages", see page 4, Fig. A). The tactical radio takes priority
over the TeamTalk function.
2.2.5 Available inserts
The following inserts are available (see page 5, Fig. D and E):
Dummy insert

Used to protect the interface when no other insert is necessary
(e.g. during cleaning).
Universal cable insert

Used to connect the communication unit to an external radio via a
PTT/RSM unit (e.g. Dräger C-C 440 or Dräger C-C 550) with QR4
plug.
Direct cable insert

Used to connect the communication unit to an external radio.
Insert for the Bluetooth connection (country-specific availability)

Used to establish a Bluetooth connection to a radio.

Insert for the configuration cable

Used to establish a connection to the PC if the communication unit
is to be configured with the C7 Dräger software (see chapter 5.2.5
on page 38).
2.3

Intended use

The communication unit is used with full face masks in the Dräger
FPS 7000 series. It has been designed for the following purposes:
Voice amplifier for the direct exchange with a person in the vicinity

Operational communication (TeamTalk)

Headset for radios


Some radios offer profiles for communication units. The
relevant profile must then be set on the radio. Further
information can be obtained from the radio manufacturer.

Limitations on use

The communication unit is not suitable as a substitute for a tactical radio.
