1) Open the lid by pressing on the release button
2) Fill the appliance with water up to the "maximum" mark and let it come to a
full boil once – as described in the next section.
3) After it has boiled, pour this water away.
4) Rinse the kettle out with clear water.
5) Refill the appliance with water up to the "maximum" mark, and then bring it
to the boil. When done, pour this water away also.
6) Rinse the kettle out with clear water.
The appliance is now ready for use.
