Operation
Starting Operation
Switching On and Off (see figures H−I)
To switch on the power tool, first press the lock-off
switch (6)
on the rear side of the power tool. Then press
the on/off switch (5) and keep it pressed.
Note: For safety reasons, the on/off switch (5) cannot be
locked; it must remain pressed during the entire operation.
The worklight (14) lights up when the on/off switch (5) is
lightly or fully pressed, allowing the work area to be illumin-
ated in poor lighting conditions.
To switch off, release the on/off switch (5). Then press the
lock-off switch (6)
on the front side of the power tool to
secure the on/off switch (5) against being switched on unin-
tentionally.
Restart Protection
The restart protection feature prevents the power tool from
uncontrolled starting after the power supply to it has been
interrupted.
To restart the tool, set the on/off switch (5) to the off posi-
tion and then switch the power tool on again.
Controlling/Preselecting the Blade Speed
You can adjust the speed of the bandsaw blade by pressing
in the on/off switch (5) to varying extents.
You can also preselect the blade speed and change it during
operation using the thumbwheel (4).

The required blade speed depends on the material and the
working conditions; it can be ascertained through practical
tests.
Temperature-dependent overload protection
In normal conditions of use, the power tool cannot be over-
loaded. If the power tool is overloaded or the permitted bat-
tery temperature is exceeded, the electronics of the power
tool will switch off until the temperature returns to within the
optimum operating temperature range.
Working Advice
Hold the power tool firmly with both hands and make
u
sure you have a stable footing. The power tool can be
more securely guided with both hands.
Select a suitable sawing position for your workpiece, so that
as many teeth as possible of the bandsaw blade (11) are in
the cut (see figure J).

Switch on the power tool and wait for the motor to reach the
required speed. Place the power tool onto the workpiece us-
ing the guide (10) and slowly lower the bandsaw blade (11)
into the cut.
Work with moderate pressure and uniform feed.
Reduce the pressure just before ending the cut and slightly
raise the power tool, so that it does not fall on the work-
piece.
Adjusting the Blade Tracking (see figures K–L)
Regularly check the height of the bandsaw blade (11) on the
roller (17). The distance between the bandsaw blade and
the upper edge of the roller must not exceed 3 mm. If the
distance is larger than this, the blade tracking must be read-
justed:
1. Loosen the locking nut for the blade tracking (19) anti-
clockwise using the socket spanner (20).
2. Turn the screw for adjusting the blade tracking (21) by
one rotation using a commercially available cross-
headed screwdriver:
To lower the bandsaw blade(11) , turn the screw (21)
clockwise.
To raise the bandsaw blade (11), turn the screw (21)
anticlockwise.
3. To preselect the blade speed, set the thumbwheel (4) to
setting 1.
4. Insert a rechargeable battery (3).
5. Switch on the power tool and allow the bandsaw
blade (11) to run for one rotation.
6. Switch the power tool off and remove the rechargeable
battery (3).
7. Check the height of the bandsaw blade (11) on the
roller (17). If necessary, repeat steps 2 to 5 until the
distance between the bandsaw blade and the upper
edge of the roller is under 3 mm.
8. Retighten the locking nut for the blade tracking (19)
clockwise using the socket spanner (20).
Note: The screw for adjusting the blade tracking (21) only
changes the height of the roller being driven (17). This en-
ables the entire track of the bandsaw blade (11) to be adjus-
ted.
Hanging Hook
Your power tool is equipped with a hanging hook (13) to
hang it from when it is switched off. To prevent injuries and
damage, only hang the power tool using a stable and suitable
means of attachment.
When the power tool is hung up, take care that the
u
saw blade is protected from accidental contact. This
poses a risk of injury.
Storing the Power Tool
If you do not use the power tool over an extended period of
time, release the pre-tensioning of the bandsaw blade (11)
to extend the service life of the bandsaw blade. To do this,
swivel the pre-tension lever (12) as far as it will go in the
direction.
