8. Safety
Only a qualified contractor should carry out installation, commis-
sioning, maintenance and repair of the appliance.
8.1 General safety instructions
We guarantee trouble-free function and operational reliability only
if original accessories and spare parts intended for the appliance
are used.
8.2 Instructions, standards and regulations
Note
Observe all applicable national and regional regulations
and instructions.
- The operating and installation instructions of the instantane-
ous water heater must be observed during installation and
operation.
- All electrical connection and installation work must be car-
ried out in accordance with VDE regulations (0100) [or local
regulations], the regulations of your local power supply utili-
ty and relevant national and local regulations.
9. Preparation
To establish a connection between the instantaneous water heater
and the wireless programming unit, the receiver module of the
FFB 1 SL needs to be installed first of all.
If you intend using several wireless programming units to operate
the instantaneous water heater, up to 5 additional FFB 2 SL wire-
less programming units can be paired with the installed receiver
module.
Installation of the receiver module and/or commissioning of the
FFB 2 SL devices must be carried out by a qualified contractor in
accordance with these installation instructions.
10. Installation
Observe the operating and installation instructions for the instan-
taneous water heater.
10.1 FFB 1
To commission the FFB 1 SL, the receiver module needs to be
installed in the instantaneous water heater. After that, it can be
controlled immediately via the wireless programming unit.
To install the receiver module in the instantaneous water heater,
proceed as follows:
f Isolate the instantaneous water heater from the power f
supply;
f Remove the instantaneous water heater cover as described in f
the appliance operating and installation instructions.

f Insert the receiver module in the upper right-hand corner of f
the appliance back panel.

f Plug the receiver module plug into the "Adaptor" slot. f
10.2 Completing the installation
f Fit the instantaneous water heater cover and connect the f
instantaneous water heater to the power supply (observe the
instantaneous water heater installation instructions).
No actions need to be performed on the FFB 1 SL itself for the
commissioning stage. The wireless remote control works imme-
diately after installation of the receiver module.
10.3 FFB 2 SL
To activate an FFB 2 SL wireless programming unit, its transmitter
code must be transmitted to the receiver module as a one-off step
on initial start-up.
When commissioning FFB 2 SL programming units, the instanta-
neous water heater needs to be ready for operation. The following
work must be done when the appliance is live. After opening the
appliance cover, be aware of live parts.
Initial start-up
f Remove the instantaneous water heater cover (see "Installa- f
tion instructions" DHE..SL (i)).
f Activate the wireless remote control by pressing any button. f
The display shows "CON".
