Intended Use

The ROHO AGILITY Back Support Direct Mount Hardware (AGILITY Direct Mount Hardware) is intended to attach compatible ROHO AGILITY Back Supports to
Permobil power wheelchairs that have compatible Corpus seating and a weight limit that does not exceed 300 lbs. (136 kg). Compatible ROHO AGILITY Back
Supports are: ROHO AGILITY Max Contour Back Support, ROHO AGILITY Mid Contour Back Support, ROHO AGILITY Min Contour Back Support.
Compatibility: The AGILITY Direct Mount Hardware is NOT intended for use with other manufacturer's back supports or for attachment to wheelchairs
other than those specified in the intended use statement. The AGILITY Direct Mount Hardware is NOT intended for use with ROHO AGILITY Laterals. The
AGILITY Direct Mount Hardware is NOT intended for use with second generation or older Corpus seating.
Wheelchair Configuration: A Permobil-authorized technician and/or a clinician should be consulted to evaluate compatibility, potential limitations or possible
interference concerns when using AGILITY with Direct Mount Hardware and the wheelchair configuration.
An experienced clinician should determine whether the product is appropriate for the individual's particular equipment needs. The product's intended use
statement alone should not be relied upon to make that determination.
A clinician should also evaluate for visual, reading, and cognitive impairment to determine the need for caregiver assistance or the need for other assistive
technology, such as large-print instructions, to ensure proper product use.

Important Safety Information - General

Warnings:
- The AGILITY Direct Mount Hardware must be correctly sized to the AGILITY Back shell.
- Check daily to make sure that all hardware is fully tightened. Follow the instructions in this manual. Check daily for wear and breakage. DO NOT use the
product if any part cannot be tightened or is broken. Periodically, the product should be thoroughly inspected by a Permobil-authorized technician.
- DO NOT modify the product or use non-compatible hardware, accessories, or components, which may result in product damage or failure.
- Metal components may become hot if exposed to high temperatures or cold if exposed to low temperatures. The product's surface will acclimate to the
surrounding temperature. Take appropriate precautions, especially when the product will contact unprotected skin.
- DO NOT expose the product to high heat, open flames or hot ashes. Testing or certification claims, including for flammability, may no longer apply to this device
when it is combined with other products or materials. Check testing and certification claims for all products used in combination with this device.
- Keep small hardware components out of the reach of children and any individuals who have a tendency to place inedible objects in their
mouths. Swallowing or inhalation may lead to serious injury or death. IMMEDIATELY seek emergency medical assistance.
Motor Vehicle Transportation Warnings:
- Failure to pay attention to these warnings could result in severe injury to the individual in the wheelchair or to others.
- Whenever possible, transfer out of the wheelchair installed with an AGILITY and into a manufacturer-installed vehicle seat, and use the vehicle's crash-tested
occupant restraint system.
- The AGILITY must be correctly and securely installed, used, and maintained according to the instructions and warnings provided by the wheelchair and
hardware manufacturers.
- Install an AGILITY on a wheelchair so the individual is seated in an upright position and the wheelchair is facing forward during transportation in a motor
vehicle. The AGILITY has only been crash tested on a wheelchair in the forward-facing position per the test information provided in this operation manual.
- The AGILITY must only be used with wheelchair frames that are equipped with securement points specified in ANSI/RESNA WC-4:2017, Section 19 (WC19) or
ISO 7176-19, and that have been successfully crash tested using the methods described in Annex A of WC19 or ISO 7176-19 (respectively).
- The wheelchair with an AGILITY must be used with an effective wheelchair securement system and a properly positioned, crash-tested pelvic and shoulder-belt
restraint, or Wheelchair Tiedown and Occupant Restraint System (WTORS), following the manufacturer's instructions.
- The top of an AGILITY should be positioned as close as possible to the top of the individual's shoulder to provide good support in the event of a crash. The
distance between the top of the individual's shoulder and the top of the wheelchair back should not exceed 6½ in. (16.5 cm).
- ALWAYS safely store AGILITY during transport to avoid damage.
- If the product has been involved in an accident during transport, see the "Maintenance" section in this manual.
- If the Direct Mount Hardware is removed from AGILITY and/or the wheelchair for transport, the height of the AGILITY on the wheelchair must be adjusted
during reinstallation. See the height adjustment instructions in this manual.
- For more information about safely transporting wheelchair users, refer to: http://wc-transportation-safety.umtri.umich.edu/ridesafe-brochure.
AGILITY with Direct Mount Hardware has been dynamically tested by a third-party testing facility for use in a motor vehicle and meets all applicable criteria for
wheelchair seating systems proposed in Section 5.1 of ANSI/RESNA WC-4:2017 Section 20 "Wheelchair Seating Systems for Use in Motor Vehicles".
Test results apply to seating systems intended for use by adults and children with a total body mass greater than 23 kg (51 lb, or approximately 6 years of age)
who are transported facing forward in their wheelchairs in all types of motor vehicles.
To determine whether motor vehicle third-party testing has been performed with a specific AGILITY-hardware and other accessory combination, refer to the
operation manual provided with AGILITY, attachment hardware, and other accessory, or contact the equipment manufacturer.
