Installation at site
5.1
Safety regulations
Your electrical installation must be in accordance with
IEC 364/VDE 0100, i.e. the socket must have an
earthing terminal.
Power supply must be in accordance with European
standard EN 60 335-2-41, i.e. it must be equipped
with an earth leakage circuit breaker with a max. trip-
ping current of 30 mA.
Please consult your electrician.
The electrical connections must not be exposed to
moisture.
5.2
Checks to be carried out prior to installation
The name plate data must match the data of the power supply
mains. Make sure that all safety regulations are complied with.
5.3
Installing the device
The Controlmatic E.2 unit must always be installed in vertical
position with the 1-inch external thread inlet nozzle pointing
downwards (see Figs. 1, 2 and 3).
Controlmatic E.2 is connected directly to the pump.
5.3.1 Fitting the pressure gauge
Controlmatic E.2 comes with the pressure gauge ready
mounted.
Never lift the unit by the power cable!
5.4
Connecting the piping
All piping must be connected without transmitting any stresses
or strains.
5.4.1 Controlmatic E.2 with dry-installed pump
Controlmatic E.2 can be connected directly to the pump dis-
charge nozzle (Figs. 1 and 2).
Controlmatic E.2 must always be installed
Caution
in vertical position.
The use of hemp to seal the threads of plastic pipe
unions frequently results in stress cracks and re-
sultant leakage.
Controlmatic E.2 can also be installed between the pump and
the consumer installations. In this case, a connecting pipe must
be provided between the pump and the Controlmatic E.2 unit.
The diameter of this pipe must at least equal the diameter of the
pump discharge pipe. The specified direction of fluid flow must
be observed (arrow on Controlmatic E.2).
5.4.2 Controlmatic E.2 with wet-installed pump
The Controlmatic E.2 unit must never be sub-
merged in the fluid.
Use suitable connecting elements to connect the pump's dis-
charge pipe to Controlmatic E.2.
22
Caution
Controlmatic E.2 must always be installed in vertical
position. To ensure trouble-free operation of the Con-
trolmatic E.2 unit in conjunction with submersible
borehole pump types S 100A or B, the pump is equipped with
an integrated vent valve facilitating suction in the event of back
pressure (Fig. 3).
5.5
Connection to power supply
The device can be connected to any electric
mains which complies with the IEC 364/VDE 0100
standard. Make sure that all safety regulations are
observed.
Use suitable connecting elements to connect the pump's dis-
charge pipe to Controlmatic E.2.

Commissioning / Start-up / Shutdown
6.1
Commissioning
6.1.1 Commissioning with dry-installed pump
D Verify that your pump is equipped with a suction strainer and
foot valve.
D Fill the pump and the suction line with water.
D Plug in the power cable of Controlmatic E.2 to a mains socket
and plug the pump's plug into the socket provided on the
Controlmatic E.2 unit. The unit is energized now, and the
green indicator lamp is lit.
D If the red indicator lamp lights up, press the red Reset button
until priming has been completed.
D Once priming is completed, the red indicator lamp goes out
and the pump delivers fluid. Close the consumer installa-
tions. (If the red indicator lamp should light up again repeat
the above procedure).
D The pump will stop after 5 to 6 seconds. The system will now
start up automatically as soon as a consumer installation is
opened.
D For trouble-shooting faults (indicated by a lit red indicator
lamp) please refer to section 8.
6.1.2 Commissioning with wet-installed pump
The pump fills with water after installation in the well / sump.
D Plug in the power cable of Controlmatic E.2 to a mains
socket. The unit is energized now, and the green indicator
lamp is lit.
D If the red indicator lamp lights up, press and hold the red
Reset button until priming of the system has been completed.
Make sure that one consumer installation is open so that all
the air can escape from the system.
6.2
Setting the start-up pressure
The unit is factory-set to a start-up pressure of 1.5 bar.
This pressure setting cannot be changed.
