(Supply Reel)
1. Clean the reel shaft and fit the height adjustment
washer (5).
2. Fit the replacement supply reel.
3. Adjust the reel height by means of the master
plane and a reel height adjustment jig.
4. Remove the replacement supply reel, oil the reel
shaft and refit the replacement supply reel.
5. Fit the clearance adjustment washer (2) (the reel
thrust play should be 0.1—0.5 mm).
6. Fit the slit washer (1).
7. Fit the tension band.
(Take-up Reel)
1. Clean the reel shaft and fit the height adjustment
washer (5).
2. Fit the replacement take-up reel.
3. Adjust the reel height by means of the master
plane and a reel height adjusment jig.
4. Remove the replacement take-up reel, oil the reel
shaft and refit the replacement take-up reel.
5. Fit the clearance adjustment wahser (2) (the reel
thrust play should be 0.1—0.5 mm).
6. Fit the slit washer (1).
7. Fit the counter belt (6).
Notes:
1. During removal
or assembly,
take care not to
scratch the reel shaft with the slit washer or tools.
2. After assembly, check the V/S back tension ac-
cording to page 11.
3. The reels engage with tne catch on the reel unit
slip plate. Assemble by gently roatating the reel
manually.
HEIGHT CHECK AND ADJUSTMENT
1. Remove the cassettte housing and set the master
plane in the mechanism as shown in Figure 6, tak-
ing care not to touch the drum.
2. By means
of the reel disk height adjustment jig,
check to see whether the height is lower than that
of A and higher than that of B in Fig. (b). If the height
is not within the specified values, adjust it by me-
ans of the height adjustment washer -and such that
the vertical play is between 0.1 mm
and 0.5 mm.
N.B.)
When replacing the reels, always adjust the
reel height.

FAST FORWARD TAKE-UP CHECK AND
ADJUSTMENT
Notes:
1. When the torque gauge is set on the reel and the
FF button is pressed to start the reel turning, take
care that the torque gauge does not fly off.
2. Checking and adjustment shold be carried out
without a video cassette tape in place.
e Checking
1. Remove the cassette housing and hold down the
CASSETTE
DOWN
button with adhesive tape.
2. Set the torque gauge on the take-up reel, and
press the FF button to enter the FAST FORWARD
mode.
3. Rotate the torque gauge slowly (about one turn
in 2 to 3 seconds) by hand in the take-up direc-
tion, checking that with a torque greater than 800
g.cm there is no slipping between the reel idler,
reel motor pulley and take-up reel.
