1) Take-up Side Medium Braking
Notes:
1. Check medium
braking before checking strong
braking.
2. Measure within 10 seconds after plugging in the
power cord and return shorted parts.
3. Check the take-up side medium braking torque in
the clockwise and counterclockwise directions of
rotation.
4. The specified value for the take-up side medium
braking torque is greater than 100 g.cm and less
than 1/2 the strong braking torque on the supply
side.
Checking
j. Remove the cassette housing.
2. Unplug the power cord, and short pin (10) of the
system control board IC807 to GND.
3. Separate the reel idler from the take-up reel and
set the torque gauge.
. Plug in the power cord.
. Rotate the torque gauge slowly (about 1 turn ev-
ery 2 to 3 seconds), and check that the take-up
side medium braking torque is greater than 100
g.cm.

e Checking
1. Remove the cassette housing.
2. Unplug the power cord, and short pin (14) of the
system control board IC807 to GND.
3. Separate the reel idler from the supply reel and
set the torque gauge.
4. Plug in the power cord.
5. Rotate the torque gauge slowly in the clockwise
direction (about 1 turn every 2 to 3 seconds).
Check that the supply side strong braking torque
is greater than 300 g.cm and greater than twice
the medium braking torque on the take-up side.
