Central ventilation unit – KWL 250 W/W ET
8.6.6 Relay settings
Set and edit the relay function:
• Maintenance display
Filter replacement is displayed (relay status: closed)
• Error message
Error message is displayed (relay status: closed). The error is also recorded on the error log.
• Error message or maintenance display
Filter replacement or error message is displayed (relay status: closed)
• Emergency off
Emergency off function is activated (relay status: closed). The emergency off function is normally activated by an
external signal via the digital input.
• Position bypass shutter
Bypass shutter position is displayed.
– Relay open:
Bypass is activated. The air flow is directed past the heat exchanger.
– Relay closed:
Bypass is deactivated. The air flow does through the heat exchanger.

Ventilation unit is in operation (relay status: closed).
8.6.7 Configuration
The corresponding basic configuration settings are assigned to the unit via the configuration number.
ⓘ The configuration number must only be adjusted when replacing the circuit board (e.g. defect). The configura-
tion number is located on the type plate.
8.6.8 Heating settings
Define settings for preheating and auxiliary heating:
• Preheating
ⓘ The preheating is used exclusively for frost protection (not for adjusting the supply air temperature).
• Electric heating element
• Not used
• Auxiliary heating (post-heating)
ⓘ This function is only available in combination with an extension module KWL-EM eC.
• Electric heating element
• Warm water heating element
• Not used
• Maximum intake temperature setting
The auxiliary heating is activated if the temperature falls below the set value.
8.6.9 Bypass settings
Define settings for the heat exchanger bypass:
• Bypass
If necessary, the intake air can be directed past the heat exchanger using the bypass function.
– Activate bypass: Intake air is directed past the heat exchanger.
– Deactivate bypass: Intake air is directed through the heat exchanger.
• Variable bypass
ⓘ The bypass function must be activated, otherwise the variable bypass cannot be activated.
The set supply air temperature can be controlled efficiently using the variable bypass. For this purpose, the actual
temperature in the room is measured and compared with the set supply air temperature setpoint. If there is a diffe-
rence, the bypass position will be automatically controlled to achieve the set supply air temperature as accurately
as possible.
