Handling
Dismantling and reassembly
The chipping hammer is of a simple design with only a few parts which are
easy to dismantle and reassemble. Attention should, however, be paid to the fol-
lowing points:

Whenever the chipping hammer being dismantled and reassembled, it must
always be clamped vertically in the cylinder (19). This facilitates disman-
tling and reassembly of the slide valve assembly.
The pin (25) must be removed before the threaded joint between the handle

(2) and the cylinder (19) can be disassembled.
Every time the machine is taken apart for overhauling, check that the O-ring

(6) and the valve seat (9) are undamaged.
Lubricate all parts lightly with oil before reassembling.

When assembling the above threaded joint, the tightening torque applied
should be 400 Nm.Important – Holes and drillings for the pin (25) are
made according to a vernier scale. If the stipulated torque 400 Nm, has been
applied but no hole for the pin is uncovered, do not loosen the handle, but
instead continue tightening up until a hole is uncovered into which the pin
can be pressed. Check regularly and tighten further if necessary.

Tighten the plug (14) and the adapter (16) to a torque of 80 Nm.
Maintenance
Lubrication
The machine should be lubricated with about 2 cm
can be dropped into the air hose. When the machine is in continuous service, in-
stallation of an Atlas Copco oil-fog lubricator in the compressed air line is rec-
ommended.
Use lubricants of good quality. The oils listed in the lubrication table are exam-
ples of lubricants that can be recommended.

If the machine is used every day, it should be overhauled and cleaned once ev-
ery six months.
The filter behind the adapter (16) should be cleaned frequently to prevent chok-
ing with resultant decrease in capacity.
