TROUBLE SHOOTING CHART —_______—---—__-
Summarized below are some typical symptoms and remedies.
It should be noted, however, that some of these seemingly
faiture-like situations may not always be the real trouble. in
such an instance, check the whole unit for proper condition.
HEAVY NOISE AND POOR RESPONSE OF THE TUNING
METER DURING FM RECEPTION
Check to see if the antenna is oriented in the right direc-
tion; a gust of wind sometimes changes the direction of
the antenna.
Check for broken wiring from the antenna to the receiver
set, especially at the output terminal of the antenna and
the antenna terminal of the receiver,
Also check the antenna for proper size from the geographi-
cal point of view.
JAMMING tN FM RECEPTION WHEN CARS ARE
RUNNING NEARBY
It is necessary to install the antenna away from the highways
or high in the air. It is also advisable, for noise suppression,

The tuning hum varies with the location of the receiver. Move

the humming is held to a minimum.

* Check to see if connections are correct and are not loose.
* Check for correct grounding.
* Check that shielded wire is away from fluorescent lamps.
POOR TONALITY OR NOISY SOUND WHEN PLAYING

* Worn out stytus or record must be replaced.

Vérifier si le cable n'est pas coupé entre !'antenne et le

ANSPRECHEN DER ABSTIMMANZEIGE BEIM
UKW- EMPFANG
Uberpriifen Sie, ob die Antenne passend gerichtet ist;
manchmal verandert ein WindstoR& die Richtung der An-
tenne.
Uberpriifen Sie, ob die Zuleitung von der Antenne zum
Receiver beschadigt ist, besonders am Antennénanschlug&
sowie am Receiver.
Uberpriifen Sie auch die Antenne auf ihre geeignete GréBe
hin unter Beriicksichtigung der geographischen Gegeben-
heiten.
STGRUNGEN IM UKW-EMPFANG WENN AUTOS
VORBEIFAHREN
Es ist notwendig, die Antenne entfernt von AutostraRen oder
hoch in der Luft anzubringen. Es ist ferner ratsam, um Stérge-
rausche zu unterdriicken, eine besondere, aus vielen Elementen
bestehende UKW-Antenne zur Verstarkung der Wellen auf-
zustellen und anstelle des Fernsehkabels ein 75-ohmiges
koaxiales Kabel zu verwenden.
SCHLECHTE KLANGTRENNUNG ZWISCHEN DEM
LINKEN UND RECHTEN LAUTSPRECHER BEI
UKW-STEREOSENDUNGEN
* Sind Betriebsarten- und Quellenwahlschalter in der rich-
tigen Stellung?
* ist die Antenne vorschriftsmaRig angebracht?
STARKE STORGERAUSCHE BEIM MW-EMPFANG
Bewegen Sie beim Empfang von MW-Sendungen die Stab-
antenne auf der Riickplatte des Gerats. Optimale Empfindlich-
keit ist erreicht, wenn die Signalstérkeanzeige ganz nach
rechts im instrument ausschlagt. In Ballungsgebieten der Stadt
oder in einem weit vom Sender entfernten Gebiet bringen Sie
einen kunststoffbeschichteten Draht am Anschlu& der
MW/AM-Antenne an.
Fiir eine bessere Empfangsempfindlichkeit empfiehlt es sich
auch, den Draht aus dem Fenster zu hangen.
Bringen Sie die Antenne nicht in die Nahe von Neonrédhren.
BRUMMEN BEIM MW-EMPFANG
Das Brummen 4ndert sich mit dem Aufstellungsort des Gerats.
Bewegen Sie die Stabantenne auf der Riickseite, um eine
Position zu ermitteln, wo das Brummen méaglichst gering ist.
BRUMMEN ODER SUMMEN BEIM ABSPIELEN VON
SCHALLPLATTEN
* Uberpriifen Sie. ob die Anschitisse korrekt und nicht locker
sind.
Priifen Sie, ob die Erdung richtig vorgenommen ist.
Achten Sie darauf, da das abgeschirmte Kabel nicht in der
Nahe von Neoniampen ist.

SCHLECHTE TONQUALITAT ODER STORGERAUSCHE
BEIM ABSPIELEN VON PLATTEN
* Eine abgenutzte Nadel oder Schallplatte faut ersetzt
werden,
* Nachpriifen, ob die Nadel bzw. die Platte sauber sind.
* Die Aufiagekraft der Nadel mu& richtig eingestelit werden.
