With faults and maintenance activities where the machine should be opened, the machine
should be unplugged, the water tap should be closed and the pressure of the steam boiler
should be reduced.
* Never submerge or spray the appliance.
* Do not leave the appliance unattended when maintenance is being performed.
* When descaling, always pay attention to the directions on the scale remover.
* After descaling, rinse the steam boiler at least three times.
* It is advisable to wear safety glasses and protective gloves when descaling.
* Wash your hands thoroughly after descaling.

11. DESCALING

There are two ways to descale the steam boiler:
• For descaling a steam boiler with normal to moderate scale formation see paragraph 11.1.
• For descaling a steam boiler with heavy scale formation see paragraph 11.2.

11.1 Normal to moderate scale formation

In case of normal to moderate scale formation, it is advisable to descale the steam boiler through
the special opening in the lid.
Necessary means and spare parts:
- Funnel, measuring cup, descaling agent, screw driver, hexagonal wrench 2.5 mm,
screw wrench 24 mm.
- Gasket of upper and bottom sealing plug, Teflon tape
(The WKS should first be at working pressure)
1. Switch off the WKS
2. Draw off 1 litre of hot water with the left
no-drip tap and dissolve one bag of scale
remover (50 gr).
3. Switch on the machine again; the steam
boiler will fill up with cold water and the
pressure will drop. As soon as the
manometer indicates 0, you should switch
off the machine. Remove the plug from
the wall socket and close the water supply
hose.
4. Dismantle the knob of the over pressure
valve (fig. 1A) and remove the lid by
loosening the screws (fig. 1B).
