System connections
Connection by audio cables (Fig. 1)
Two pairs of red and white audio cables with standard
phono plugs attached (i.e. PLAY/LINE OUT cables and
REC/LINE IN cables) are provided with your KX-76R. The
colors are to identify the right and left stereo channels;
red indicates the right channel and white the left chan-
nel.
Use of these cables is recommended for optimum per-
formance in terms of noise and frequency response.
To protect your speakers, turn off all power before mak-
ing any system connections.
Make connections as follows:
1. Connect the left and right PLAY/LINE
OUT plugs to
the Tape Play jacks on your amplifier or receiver.
2. Connect the REC/LINE IN plugs to the Tape Rec (re-
cord) jacks on your amplifier or receiver.
Note:
Some audio cables are in red/black.

Microphones
Your microphones should be of the low impedance (600
ohms) dynamic type.
To make stereo recordings, plug microphones into the L
and R MIC jacks. Adjust the recording level with the REC
LEVEL control.
Headphones
Headphones may be plugged into the PHONES jack of
your KX-76R to monitor recordings and playback inde-
pendently of the audio signal routed to your system's
speakers. Use 8 ~ 16 ohm headphones.
Other audio sources
Low-level
sources
such
as
telephone
pick-up
coils
should be plugged into the MIC jacks. If a microphone
mixer is to be incorporated into your system, its outputs
can be plugged into the MIC jacks. However, if the mixer
has a high-level (LINE) output, it should be connected to
the REC/LINE IN jacks on your KX-76R.
Connections
made
from
tuners,
TV
sets,
or other
sources of audio should be connected
to the MIC or
REC/LINE
IN jacks depending
upon the level of audio
output from these devices. High level outputs (line or 0
dB levels) should
be connected
to the REC/LINE
IN
jacks.
