8. GEMEINSAM KITEN
Hier fi ndest Du ein paar Hinweise für sicheres
Kiten in Gebieten, wo auch andere Kiter unterwegs
sind.
Sicherheit:
•
Folge den Sicherheitshinweisen dieses
JN-Manuals.
•
Folge den Sicherheitshinweisen des jeweiligen
Kitegebietes.
•
Halte Dich an allgemein gültige Sicherheitsre-
geln.
•
Berühre nicht unaufgefordert die Ausrüstung
anderer Rider. Kites und Bars anderer zu
berühren kann deren Startgewohnheiten
durcheinander bringen.
Dieses Manual reicht nicht aus, um das Kiten
zu erlernen. Wir empfehlen Dir dringend den
Besuch einer Kiteschule.
Startbereitschaft:
•
Mache nur den Teil Deiner Ausrüstung start-
klar, den Du gleich benutzen willst.
•
Wähle eine Stelle mit ausreichend Platz zum
Starten.
•
Rolle Deine Leinen nach Gebrauch auf.
•
Achte beim Start auf Personen, Tiere und
Hindernisse.
•
Achte beim Start auf andere Kiter.
•
Biete anderen Kitern Deine Hilfe an. Vielleicht
kannst Du auch die ihre brauchen.
•
Knüpfe Deine Leinen immer selbst am Kite
an. Kontrolliere, ob alle Kitekomponenten
richtig zusammengebaut sind.
•
Prüfe Deine Safetysysteme vor jeder Session
auf ihre Funktionstüchtigkeit.
•
Material, besonders Leinen, regelmäßig auf
Abnützungserscheinungen und Scheuerstellen
überprüfen und gegebenenfalls austauschen.
5. SHARING THE SAME SPOT
Here are some basic things to consider when
sharing spots with other kiters:
Safety:
•
Follow the safety instructions outlined in this
manual.
•
Follow the safety instructions posted at the
kite spots you use.
•
Use common sense.
•
Do not touch other people's gear, unless
instructed to do so by the owner. Picking up
their bars, kites, etc. may disrupt a setup ritual
they have.
•
If you are a beginner, this manual is not
enough to learn kiting. We strongly recom-
mend you get lessons from an approved kite-
boarding school.
Setting up:
•
Only set up the gear you are planning to use
immediately.
•
Set up in an area where you have plenty of
room.
•
Set up in a manner conducive to having mul-
tiple users in the area.
•
Roll up your lines whenever you are not using
them.
•
Always keep other people, pets and obstacles
in mind when launching.
•
Be aware of other users of the area. Be cour-
teous and co-operative.
•
Always be ready to lend assistance to other
kiteboarders. You might need the favour
returned sooner than you think.
•
Always attach the lines to the kite yourself
and check whether all components of the kite
are appropriately fi tted.
•
Test the function of safety systems before
every session.
•
Check the material, mostly the lines, regularly
for wear-off or abrasions. Replace if neces-
sary.
