Problem
White smoke is coming
out of the device.
Fresh chips are unevenly
fried in the hot air fryer.
Fresh chips are not
crispy when they come
out of the fryer.
Possible cause
You are preparing
greasy ingredients.
The basket still contains
grease residue from
previous use.
You have not used the
right type of potato.
You have not rinsed the
potato sticks properly
before frying.
The crispness of the
chips depends on the
amount of oil and water
in the chips.
Solution
When you fry greasy
ingredients in the air fryer,
a large amount of oil will
leak into the basket. The oil
produces white smoke and
the basket may heat up
more than usual. This does
not affect the device or the
end result.
White smoke is produced
when the fat in the basket
heats up. Be sure to clean
the basket thoroughly after
each use.
Use fresh potatoes and
make sure they stay firm
when deep-frying.
Rinse the potato sticks well
to remove the starch from
the outside of the sticks.
Be sure the potato sticks
are dry before adding the
oil.
Cut the potato sticks
smaller for a crispier result.
Add a little more oil for a
crispier result.
