Motor Speed Reduction Angle
The ideal setting will achieve a smooth reduction in motor speed as the rudder nears the desired position.
Planing vessel's are sensitive to sea conditions and can easily be moved off course. Decrease the Reduction
Angle so that the corrective rudder movement, performed by the Pilot will quickly return the vessel onto its
course.
Mechanical drive systems with high inertia, need to operate the rudder more slowly when small adjustments
are needed, increasing the Reduction Angle will provide this effect.

The range is from 0º to 7º, in increments of 1º.
Amplified Rudder Feedback Unit
This adjustment has the same function as the setting of bridge J1 in the pilot computer (see installation
instructions for VDO PILOT BOX). Certain rudder position indicators function only when the signal amplifi-
cation function has been switched off. If bridge J1 is left in the factory-set standard position (amplification
switched on), this setting can be used to switch on or switch off the amplification function.
In case of connection of the rudder position sensor N03 220 401, the signal amplification function remains
switched on, and in case of connection of a linear drive unit with the integrated rudder position sensor
X10.719/002/028, the amplification function must then be switched off.

This adjusts the sensitivity of the steering when it is controlled by a remote device (remote devices on
request).

Rudder Limits
This allows adjustments to the maximum rudder movement, either side of midships, obtainable under auto-
pilot control. The Dockside Settings automatically calculated this value, however Rudder Limits allows
manual override.

Ensure the limit setting does not allow the rudder to touch its mechanical end stops.
