BCL 90
Application
BCL 90 scans and decodes bar codes
automatically. It has a fixed mounting and is
to be supplied with an operating voltage acc.
to Table 1. BCL 90 transmits the data
contained in the bar codes to the host via a
host interface.
Quick Start
(Commissioning with factory base settings)
1. Connect BCL to connector unit MA 90 with
two type KB 090-3000 cables.
2. Connect reading cycle sensor (e.g. retro-
reflective photoelectric sensor, switch) to
switching input SE1 in MA 90.
3. Switch on the supply voltage of MA 90.
BCL starts operating. After a successful self-
test, the LED Device Ready is switched on.
BCL with external parameter memory:
After the BCL starts, the LEDs Device Ready
and Read Result flash.
Line scanner with oscillating mirror:
BCL deflects the scan line with a frequency of
1Hz by an amplitude of ±20° (±40 CW) from the
position of CW=50.
4. Start reading cycle: cover light path of the light
barrier or turn off switch.
LED Sensor is turned on.
The red scan line appears.
5. Present the bar code sample (above) at a scan-
ning distance of around 1000mm. Place the
bar code in such a way that the scan line
passes over the bar code at a near-right angle
to the code lines.
6. End reading cycle: uncover the light path of the
light barrier or turn on switch.
LED Sensor is turned off. After successful
scanning, LED Read Result is turned on for
100ms.
BCL is now ready to operate on the factory
base settings
