HAMMER SAFETY WARNINGS
SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS FOR ALL OPERATIONS
Wear ear protectors. Exposure to noise can cause hearing loss.
Use auxiliary handle(s), if supplied with the tool. Loss of control
can cause personal injury.
Hold the power tool by insulated gripping surfaces when
performing an operation where the cutting accessory may
contact hidden wiring or its own cord. Cutting accessory
contacting a "live" wire may make exposed metal parts of the power
tool "live" and could give the operator an electric shock.
SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS WHEN USING LONG DRILL BITS
WITH ROTARY HAMMERS
Always start drilling at low speed and with the bit tip in contact
with the workpiece. At higher speeds, the bit is likely to bend if
allowed to rotate freely without contacting the workpiece, resulting
in personal injury.
Apply pressure only in direct line with the bit and do not apply
excessive pressure. Bits can bend, causing breakage or loss of
control, resulting in personal injury.
ADDITIONAL SAFETY AND WORKING INSTRUCTIONS
Use the dust collection device or connect a dust extraction vacuum
when operating the product.
Clamp the workpiece with a clamping device. Unclamped
workpieces can cause severe injury and damage.
Do not switch on the product again after it has stalled. Switching it
on again can cause a kickback with high reaction force. Determine
why the product has stalled and rectify it, paying heed to the safety
instructions.
The dust produced when using the product may be harmful to
health. Do not inhale the dust. Wear a suitable dust protection
mask.
Always disconnect the plug from the socket before carrying out any
work on the product.

MAINS CONNECTION
Appliances used at many diff erent locations including wet room and
open air must be connected via a residual current device (FI, RCD,
PRCD) of 30 mA or less.
Connect only to a single-phase AC system voltage as indicated on
the rating plate. It is also possible to connect to sockets without an
earthing contact as the design conforms to safety class II.
Make sure the product is switched off before plugging it in.
10
Keep mains lead clear from working range of the product. Always
lead the cable away behind you.
This is a product for professional use, which may slightly exceed
the guide values for current harmonics when it is connected to
the public low voltage mains supply. Contact your energy supply
company before connecting the product to the public low voltage
mains supply.
COLD HAMMERING
If the product is stored for a long period of time or at cold
temperatures, the lubrication may become stiff and the product
may not hammer initially or the hammering may be weak. If this
happens:
1. Insert a bit or chisel into the product.
2. Run the product against a scrap piece of concrete.
3. Pull and release the trigger every few seconds.
After 15 seconds to two minutes, the product will start hammering
normally. The colder the product is, the longer it will take to warm
up.
MAINTENANCE
Avoid using solvents when cleaning plastic parts. Most plastics
are susceptible to various types of commercial solvents and may
be damaged by their use. Use clean cloths to remove dirt, carbon
dust, etc.
If the supply cord of the product is damaged, it must only be
replaced by a repair shop appointed by the manufacturer, to avoid
hazardous situations.
Use only AEG accessories and spare parts. Should components
that have not been described need to be replaced, contact one
of our AEG service agents (see our list of guarantee/service
addresses).
If needed, an exploded view of the product can be ordered. State
the product type and the serial number printed on the label,
and order the drawing at your local service agents or directly
