1. Camera Introduction

The IN-9420 2K+ is the newest WQHD PIR outdoor pan/tilt/zoom IP camera
from INSTAR. With a built-in state-of-the-art Panasonic passive infrared (PIR)
motion sensor and four separately configurable alarm areas that can be linked
together, the camera prevents false alarms and notifies you only when a real
alarm has been triggered.
Thanks to the latest Sony 4MP CMOS image sensor with Sony STARVIS tech-
nology and very low image noise and high light sensitivity, perfect day and night
shots are guaranteed. The double LEDs provide both floodlight spotlights and
infrared night vision.
The camera's design has been completely revamped to meet our customers
needs. The cable can now be removed inside the camera to be routed from
inside to outside through a wall. Only a small hole the size of the cable diameter
is needed. Then, the cable just needs to be plugged back into the camera from
the inside.
This camera uses an integrated Linux operating system and a web server that
supports TLS encryption to ensure secure access and protect your privacy. The
modern web interface (WebUI) is easy and intuitive to use, and designed for all
current device types (desktop, tablet, smartphone). It also supports almost all
operating systems (Windows, MacOS, Linux, ...). Thanks to a setup wizard and
an integrated help function, the camera is also easy to use for beginners.
Please note that this user manual describes both the WiFi and PoE version of
the IN-9420. Therefore, some sections in this user manual might only apply to
the WiFi and some only to the PoE model. The WPS function for example only
applies to the WiFi version.
