4.2 Switching on and off

Switching on
Press the On/Off button to switch the
camera on. The camera now operates
in the mode set using the mode switch.
If the camera is not switched on, check
the polarity of the batteries and ensure
that they are charged.
Switching off
Press and hold the On/Off button to switch the camera off. The LCD
(TFT) goes blank.
In order to conserve the battery, the camera is deactivated
automatically after it has been idle for a specific time period (set
under Auto Power Off). Press the On/Off button to switch the
camera on again.

4.3 Using the Recording Mode

Switch the mode switch to the central
position to access the recording mode.
You can select the image size using
both the LCD display and the optical
viewfinder. Use the LCD display to
position the subject precisely. Use the
viewfinder to save power or if the light
incidence is too bright. When taking close
up pictures, you do not see the exact
image size (parallax error). Secure the
camera when capturing image bursts.
