Operating instructions
A) Connections to mains supply:
Before putting the unit into Operation, check whether the voltage selector (38) at the
rear of the unit is set for the proper line voltage. The unit is suitable for connection
to AC mains only. Setting to another voltage is accomplished by means of a screw
driver or a suitable coin which should be turned until the mark points to the respec-
tive mains voltage. In the factory the unit is set for 220 volts. The mains fuse (37)
can be replaced by turning out the cap. Repeated blowing of properly sized and rated
fuses indicates a defect in the unit. Mended fuses or overfusing may cause severe
damage to the unit which is not covered by warranty.
B) Fuses:
The size of the mains fuse should be:
mains voltage 1 1 0 -1 3 0 volts =
mains voltage 220 — 240 volts = 1.6 amps. slow
The two anode fuses = each 500 mA slow
Transistor fuse = 315 mA slow (in the unit)
All fuses = 5 x 20 mm
Attention! Spare fuses are in a plastic bag at the rear wall of the unit.

The earthing-contact-type line cord supplied with the „EMINENT ll" should be plug-
ged into the mains supply socket (55). The specified protection against electric shock
hazard as well as the best possible freedom from humming is only secured when
plugging this cord line into a properly installed earthing-contact-type socket. Depen-
ding on the local mains conditions, it may become necessary to change the polarity
of the power plug in order to secure maximum freedom from humming. In order to
eliminate so-called hum pickups, care should be taken that the unit „EMINENT II"
and the echo/reverberation unit used are plugged into two sockets not placed too
far from each other.
The use of earthing-contact-type multiple sockets is an advantage in this respect.
C) Loudspeaker Connections:
,
The „EMINENT II" amplifier is suitable for the connection of all commonly used
acoustic radiators or loudspeaker boxes. For this purpose 4 output jacks with 4 to
16 ohms (50), (51), (52), (53) and an output jack for 100 volts (48) complying with
the safety regulations are provided at the rear of the unit. As mistakes are made
quite often when connecting several loudspeakers to one ampiifier we should like
to draw your attention to the following :
