Changing the Activated Carbon Filter

The water tank (13) contains an activated carbon filter (7) that is intended to protect the device
from limescale deposits. This activated carbon filter should be replaced after around 70 brew-
ing processes or during descaling (see the "Cleaning and Care" chapter – "Descaling").
1. Flip open the water tank lid (11).
2. Remove the holder for the activated carbon filter (8) from the water tank.
3. Open up the flap on the holder and remove the old activated carbon filter.
4. Clean the holder for the activated carbon filter if necessary.
5. Take a new activated carbon filter out of its packaging and rinse it thoroughly under running
water to remove any possible production residues.
6. Place the new activated carbon filter into the holder and then close the flap again.
7. Insert the holder for the activated carbon filter back into the recess provided for it in the
water tank.

Cleaning the Thermal Jug
(only for article numbers 02049)
Coffee grounds and coffee oil residues can contaminate thermal jugs over time. They should
therefore be thoroughly cleaned regularly (at least every 4 weeks).
We recommend that you do this using BEEM Premium Cleaning Tablets. They will remove the
residues quickly and easily. In addition, the cleaning tablets are gentle on the material and
guarantee food-safe and environmentally friendly cleaning - ensuring an authentic coffee flavour.

Cleaning with the BEEM Premium Cleaning Tablets
1. Dissolve a cleaning tablet in water at 60 – 70 °C.
2. Pour the solution into the thermal jug.
3. Close the thermal jug and move it around so that the inside is wetted with the cleaning
solution.
4. Allow the cleaning solution to take effect for a few minutes.
5. Empty the cleaning solution and rinse the thermal jug thoroughly several times.
Please Note! The BEEM Cleaning Tablets do not have a descaling effect!
