Version 1: The Plate Foundation
If you are looking for a cheap solution for your garden sauna foundation, you should definitely take a closer look
at the slab foundation. However, this variant is only suitable for small, lighter sauna models. This sauna
foundation also offers no frost protection and is not as durable as other variants.

The installation of the sauna foundation
In the first step, you lift the entire surface on which your garden sauna is to stand by 30 cm. Then pour a layer of
gravel and crushed stone about 20 cm thick into the groove. Spread them out evenly, then secure them with a
shaker. You can now place the individual slabs on the gravel, which is smooth at best. It is very important that
you now use the rubber mallet to make a slight deepening. Then use a spirit level to check that everything is
level. If not, you still have to do some work.
Version 2: The Floor plate
If you are looking for the most stable solution when it comes to garden sauna foundations, you should take a
closer look at the base plate. This is a comprehensive layer of concrete that offers the best protection against
moisture and frost. This makes it perfect as a base for a garden sauna. The base plate is very robust and
durable and will serve its purpose for many years.

Over the entire area of ​ ​ t he floor plan you lift out the earth about 30 cm deep. Then, as with many other variants,
first pour a layer of gravel into the pit (approx. 15 cm). Then you fasten it again with a vibrator. In the next step,
a PE film is placed on the gravel before you switch the floor plan - preferably with wooden slats. Now you can
pour the concrete mixture into the excavation. It is very important that you also add steel mats in order to
stabilize the concrete as best as possible and also to compact it.
Note that the base plate should first harden for a few hours or even days. Only then do you enter it. It is also
recommended to only carry out this work on frost-free days.
