Tooth shape

The most common tooth forms are BW and HZ, refer to figure 6. For aluminum only tooth shape BW
is used. For steel upto tooth pitch 4mm use BW and tooth pitch ≥5mm use tooth shape HZ.

4. Operation

Switches

Main switch

The main switch can be put in two positions, OFF and ON. To be able to operate the machine, the
switch has to be put in the ON position. There is a plastic safety key on the main switch. To lock the
switch in the OFF position, pull out the safety key. The saw will not start with the key removed.
However, if the key is removed while the switch is in the ON position, it can be turned off once. The
saw will not restart until the key has been reinserted into the switch.

Micro switch (trigger)

In order to operate the machine, the main switch has to be in the 1- or 2-position, depending on the
preferred saw speed. Then operate the saw by pressing the trigger (micro-
switch)(fig.7).
Operation

Check before each use

1. Check if the blade protector functions properly to be sure you are sufficiently protected
(point 6,7,8 and 9 of chapter 2 Safety rules).
2. Check the sharpness of the blade, never operate the saw if the blade is not sharp or if there
are teeth missing.
3. Check if the cooling system functions properly.
Operation
4. Check if the workpiece is clamped properly.
5. Put the main switch in the ON-position (1 or 2).
6. Grab the trigger handle (fig. 7).
7. Start the rotation of the saw blade by pressing the micro-switch. The operator controls the
lowering speed of the blade.

Sawing speed and saw feed

The sawing speed depends on the toughness and hardness of the metal. If the sawing speed is too
high, the cut will not be straight. The saw feed (lowering speed of the blade) depends on the
