1. General

Before starting to use the machine you need to read and fully understand the manual!!!
This manual contains important information about the proper way of installing, operating and
maintaining the equipment described in this manual. When using any circular saw cabinet there are a
different kind of risks that you may incur, risks in personal injuries or property damage. Everyone
who comes into contact with the installation, maintenance or operation of the circular saw must be
fully familiar with the contents of this manual. To protect yourself against personal injury or property
damage you need to follow the following information and instructions in this manual.
Every Cowley circular saw is manufactured in accordance with the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC.
Every circular saw is supplied with a manual including a declaration of conformity, maintenance
protocol and maintenance and examination legenda. These must be stored and kept up to date
properly.
Because of quality reasons constant improvements are going to be made on the equipment.
Valkenpower bv. (holder "Cowley") reserves the right to alter specifications of the equipment
described in this manual.

2. Safety rules

1. Make sure you have fully read and understood the entire content of this user manual before
operating the machine, failure to heed these instructions may cause serious physical injuries
and/or damage to materials and/or the machine.
2. Make sure you have read and understood all warnings in this manual and on the machine,
failure to heed these instructions may cause serious physical injuries and/or damage to
materials and/or the machine.
3. Replace warning labels if these are no longer readable or removed.
4. The machine is designed and meant for usage by professional and experienced personnel.
When you are not familiar with using a machine, do not use it until you have enough
knowledge and experience.
5. Do not use this machine to perform tasks it was not designed for, if this however does
happen, the warranty will expire and we cannot be held accountable for any damage and/or
injuries caused by unintended use.
6. Always wear ANSI-approved safety glasses of facial protector when operating the machine.
7. When operating the machine, do NOT wear jewelry, loose-fitting clothes and/or watch. Long
hair is to be tied back, sleeves rolled up till the elbow and wear gloves. Wearing anti-slip
footwear or place anti-slip strips on the floor.
8. Use hearing protection when operating the machine for longer periods of time.
9. Some dust that is developed during sawing, grinding, drilling or other construction
operations, includes carcinogenic substances which could cause reproductive damage and
congenital anomalies. A few examples of these type of substances are: lead in lead-based
paint, crystalline silica from bricks, cement and other masonry products, arsenic and chrome
