Basic playback controls
Press the (PLAY/PAUSE) bu�on to play or pause the disc.
Press the (PREV) bu�on to skip backward to the previous �tle/chapter.
Press the (NEXT) bu�on to skip forward to the next �tle/Chapter.
Press the (PREV) bu�on to fast reverse the disc 2x, 4x, 8x, 20x or back to normal playback
speed.
Press the (FWD) bu�on to fast forward the disc 2x, 4x, 8x, 20x or back to normal playback
speed.
Press the (STOP) bu�on once to stop the disc playing; press the (PLAY/PAUSE) bu�on to
resume playback from the last played loca�on.
Press the (STOP) bu�on twice to stop playback completely.
Notes:
Unless otherwise indicated, use remote control to operate the features discribed
throughout this manual.
On-screen display (OSD)
DVD playback: Press (OSD) on the remote control to display single elapsed �me, single
remaining �me, total elaped �me, total remaining �me and other informa�on about the
disc.
VCD playback: Press (OSD) on the remote control to display single elapsed �me, single
remaining �me, display off and other informa�on about the disc.
Play mode (N/P): for composite only
Press N/P to toggle between NTSC, PAL and Auto.
Sub�tles
Press the (SUBTITLE) bu�on repeatedly to ac�vate and select sub�tles. Only if available on the
disc.
Angle
Press the (ANGLE) bu�on repeatedly to select the different camera angles on the disc. Only if
available on the disc.
Language
Press the (LANGUAGE) bu�on repeatedly to select the different languages on the disc. Only if
available on the disc.
TITLE
Press the (TITLE) bu�on to display the �tle menu when watching films/recordings on disc with
mul�-�tle encoding. (This works for discs encoded with mul�ple �tles).
Menu/PBC
(PBC) to return to the main VCD playback menu. (This works for discs with mul�ple chapters).
If you are playing a VCD 2.0, press (RETURN) to return to the PBC playback menu.
When playing an SVCD, press (MENU/PBC) to display the menu on the screen. A�er
inser�ng the disc, the unit automa�cally switches to PBC ON.
When playing VCD1.1m CD-DA and MP3, press (MENU/PBC) and PBC off is displayed on
the TV screen. In this mode, the menu is not displayed on the screen; press the number
key to select the track.
