HOW DOES EMS (ELECTRICAL MUSCLE STIMULATION) WORK?
Low frequencies (1-10Hz)
with long pulse times and single muscle contractions provide:
• detoxification
• relaxation
• improved circulation in the muscles
• carrying away metabolic end-products (lymph drainage)
Medium frequencies (20-50Hz)
The quick consecutive contractions (fibrillation) provide:
• increased strain on the muscles
• increased muscle building
• increased muscle fiber size
• improved oxygen uptake
• increased energy consumption for the user
POSSIBLE EMS APPLICATIONS
Generally the Promed EMT-4 shall be used for the following medical
indications or the following complaints as a EMS unit for treatment:
Indications:
• For relaxation of muscle spasm
• For increase of blood circulation
• For prevention of retardation of disuse atrophy
• For muscle re-education
