In most aquarium systems the loss of water from the aquarium is mainly due to factors such as
evaporation. If evaporated water is not regularly replaced, problems can occur and the water
quality of the aquarium may be compromised. The REEF-Fill Compact System provides a simple
solution to automatically top up any water lost from the aquarium or sump through
evaporation and to create an advanced professional set-up. An alarm will sound and the pump
will be stopped when there is either too much or too little water, helping to protect your
system from flooding.
PARTS REQUIRED FOR INSTALLATION AND OPERATION
1. Residual current device (RCD) with a rated residual operating current not exceeding 30mA.
ASSEMBLY
The REEF-Fill Compact System is supplied almost fully assembled. After unpacking and before installation
you must:-
1. Ensure that the IR sensors are correctly secured on the mounting bracket with the
IR water level monitoring sensor (black cable) facing downwards and the
IR water level monitoring safety sensor (white cable) facing upwards.
2. Connect components to the Smart Monitoring System unit (see photo 1):-
- Connect the black cable (IR water level monitoring sensor) into the
"Water Level Sensor" port
- Connect the white cable (IR water level monitoring safety sensor) into
the "Safety Sensor" port
- Connect the pump to the "Pump" port.
Always leave a drip-loop in all cables to prevent water running
down the cables and reaching the Smart Monitoring System
unit and power source.
3. Carefully cut the flexible top up hosing (9) to the
correct length so that it can be successfully secured
in the hosing securing clamp without any kinks or sags
(see photo 2) and install the anti-siphon valve as
shown (see diagram).
4. Attach and secure one end of the flexible top up
hosing (9) to the pump outlet (7) (see photo 3).
