4.3.2 Required tools

The following lifting gear and tools are required for
assembly:
• lifting gear
– crane (load capacity ≥ 35 kN) or
– forklift (load capacity ≥ 35 kN, fork
length 2000 mm)
• welding machine (ESAB caddy 200 (5-200A) or
similar)
• welding machine (ESAB 0K 48.00 3.25 or similar)
• drilling machine
• drill bits
• spirit level
• Torx screwdriver TX20
• cross-tip screwdriver
• screwdriver
• open-end spanner

Transport

4.4.1 Transporting L320e ECO
• Fig. a , page A1. When using a crane:
Transport the dock leveller by means of the four
marked transport lugs.
• Fig. b , page A1. When using a fork lift:
Transport the dock leveller by means of the four
marked transport lugs.
Safely place the dock leveller on a level surface that
can be walked under. Remove the control unit
(fastened under the dock leveller platform in the box
behind the hydraulic unit). Guide the cables under-
neath the front of the dock leveller to the outside and
place the control unit e.g. on the dock leveller plat-
form.
4.4.2 Transporting L320e ECO Plus

Transport the dock leveller by means of the four
marked transport lugs.
Safely place the dock leveller on a level surface that
can be walked under. Remove the control unit

neath the front of the dock leveller to the outside and
place the control unit e.g. on the dock leveller plat-
form.
These assembly, operation and maintenance instructions must be kept for the entire period of use!

Inserting the dock leveller

4.5.1 Preassembling L320e ECO
NOTICE Malfunction due to damaged cables
• Do not crush the cables of the con-
trol unit located on the outside of
the dock leveller!
Fig. a , page A3. Remove the transport feet at the
rear. Rotate all mounting brackets by 90° so that they
are perpendicular to the dock leveller platform. Insert
the dock leveller into the installation point. The
mounting brackets have to rest on the surround of the
installation point.
Fig. b , page A3. Make sure that the dock leveller
is not braced and that a lateral clearance of 15 mm
(+0/-2 mm) between the surround of the installation
point and the dock leveller platform is maintained.
Align the dock leveller horizontally to the level.

round of the installation point at the rear.
Fig. d , page A4. Fold up the hinged lip and secure
it with a suitable support (not included in the scope of
delivery).
Risk of injury from the hinged lip
WARNING
falling down!
The hinged lip cylinder is depressur-
ised, the hinged lip can fall down as a
result.
• Secure the hinged lip with a suitable
support (not included in the scope
of delivery). Make sure that the sup-
port is firmly and safely positioned.
Remove two screws on each side of the crossbar.
Pull the crossbar forward with the lifting cylinders.
Fig. e , page A5. Align the crossbar at the front.
The correct position is reached once the dock leveller
platform is in a horizontal position with the hinged lip
folded in. The crossbar must not be outside the in-
stallation point. If necessary, place the crossbar un-
derneath with suitable sheets for height compensa-
tion (not included in the scope of delivery). The length
of the sheet must correspond to the length of the
welding seam.
Fig. f , page A5. Weld the crossbar to the surround
of the installation point.
Fig. g , page A6. Remove all mounting brackets.
If the dock leveller is galvanised, spray the area
around the weld seams with cold galvanising spray
(not included in the scope of delivery) and allow to
dry for at least 30 minutes.
Touch up all damaged areas in the paint with the sup-
plied touch-up paint.
