2 Safety Precautions and Working Techniques
Do not reach within the swivel range of the push
handle – parts of your body may become jam‐
med between the push handle and housing if the
push handle inadvertently falls over – risk of
injury!
Exclusively store the power tool in a dry location
with the on/off switch on 0 and the battery
removed.

Working Technique

2.13.1
Holding and Guiding the Tool
Your power tool is designed to be operated by
one person only. Do not allow other persons in
the work area.
Always grip the push handle firmly.
Push the power tool forward and adapt the
speed to the environment.
You can drive over small elevations of 2 - 3 cm
by pushing the push handle down slightly.
If cleaning performance deteriorates, check the
circular brushes and sweeper drum assembly for
blockages or wear.
Filling level in sweeper container
The sweeper container is full if the dirt that is col‐
lected during sweeping, escapes again to the
side.

To be able to continue working temporarily, lift
the machine at the front to move the dirt in the
container towards the back. This makes better
use of the capacity of the sweeper container.
When sweeping heavy dirt, e. g. chippings, the
center of gravity shifts to the back when the
sweeper container is full. The circular brushes
therefore make less contact with the surface to
be swept and the cleaning result is not as good.

Maintenance and Repairs
Always switch off the machine – position 0 – and
remove the battery before carrying out any
repairs or maintenance work. This avoids the risk
of the motor starting unintentionally.
Service the machine regularly. Do not attempt
any maintenance or repair work not described in
the instruction manual. Have all other work per‐
formed by a servicing dealer.
STIHL recommends that you have servicing and
repair work carried out exclusively by an author‐
ized STIHL servicing dealer. STIHL dealers are
regularly given the opportunity to attend training
courses and are supplied with the necessary
technical information.
Only use high-quality replacement parts in order
to avoid the risk of accidents and damage to the
unit. If you have any questions in this respect,
consult a servicing dealer.
STIHL recommends the use of genuine STIHL
replacement parts. They are specifically
designed to match your model and meet your
performance requirements.
Never attempt to modify your power tool in any
way since this will increase the risk of personal
injury.
Regularly check the electrical contacts and
ensure that the insulation of the connecting cord
and plug of the charger is in good condition and
shows no sign of ageing (brittleness).
Electrical components, e.g. connecting cord of
charger, may only be repaired or replaced by a
qualified electrician.
Keep the battery guides free from foreign matter
– clean as necessary.
Wear sturdy work gloves to reduce the risk of cut
injuries from sharp objects when replacing the
side brooms or roller brush.
