Note
If your system is equipped with more than 2 drive volumes (NVMe, SSD and HDD volumes), only two volumes are
taken into account for the majority of the above functions. The third volume (the HDD volume in the delivery
configuration) is temporarily switched offline.
NOTICE
"Reset drive(s)" also includes volumes that are switched offline!
Continue the restore process and follow the instructions in the dialogs.
On completion of the automatic restart of the PC, the system is initialized.
6. Make additional settings in the corresponding dialogs. Read also the information on this in the section "Initial commissioning
and system restore (Page 19)".
NOTICE
Warning: overwritten data
For your PC, the Restore images are temporarily stored on the data partition of the system drive in the folder "Images".
Do not create a folder named "Images" on the data partition.
Do not store your own data in the "Images" folder on the data partition.
Make sure that there is enough free storage space (30 GB) on the data partition if you are restoring.
A message appears indicating that the system restore is complete.
The system is then restarted automatically.

Hotfixes and security updates

The Restore package contains Microsoft security patches up to and including October 12, 2021.
To avoid the installation of incompatible updates, the local group policy for the following option has been set to "Disabled":
"Policies for local computer > Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Windows
Update > Configure Automatic Updates". Depending on the information on this product available on the Support pages, you
are required to always request and install Windows Updates manually on your system.
The Apache Log4j Remote Code Execution vulnerability (CVE-2021-44228) for hardware RAID configurations has been fixed
with the delivered restore images for the Process Control System IPC647E / IPC847E.
Further fixes or update actions to close the vulnerability are therefore no longer required.

Drive volumes and partitioning

Your device can be equipped with multiple drive volumes of various sizes, as single or raid volume of NVMe SDDs, SATA
SSDs or SATA HDDs.
In the factory settings or when changing over the operating system, the drive volume with the highest performance is
always set up as system volume (NVMe SSD > SATA SSD > SATA HDD).
If there are several volumes in your device, it is possible to reorganize the partition layout of the first two volumes to swap
the system volume.
The Windows boot partition (Boot) is always at the top on the system volume.
Note that in case of a drive replacement and subsequent restore, the size of the original drive volume of the delivery state
must be taken into account.
In addition to the system partition, a system volume also always contains a DATA partition as one of its visible partitions.
For systems with multiple drive volumes, the second and, if applicable, the third volume each contain an additional DATA
partition.
To distinguish the two DATA partitions, their names are suffixed with a "_" and three other characters.
The following character is either an "H" (huge) or an "S" (small), which indicates the relative size of the first two volumes. A
third volume, if present, is given the same classification character as the second volume.
The next two characters indicate whether the DATA partition is on the system volume (01) or on the data-only volume (02
and, if applicable, 03).
