4 Maintenance
4.
Tighten the pump belt until it can be depressed
by about 1 cm at moderate thumb pressure.
5.
Tighten the screws of the belt tensioner.
6.
Mount the drive cover.
7.
Check whether the pump turns under drive load.
8.
If the belt tension is not yet sufficient, repeat
steps 1. ... 7..

4.2 Servicing the milling rotor

Risk of injury from sharp edges!
A sharp burr can form on the milling discs during
the milling process.
Wear safety gloves!
Risk of injury from heavy machine parts! Do not
reach under the milling rotor when pulling out
the milling rotor!
The operation was ended
(! Chapter 3.3 ‐ page 20).
1.
Unscrew the 4 screws [48, Fig. I]
(spanner width 19).
2.
Pull the bearing plate [47, Fig. I] from the rotor
shaft [45, Fig. I].
3.
Pull the milling rotor [46, Fig. I] from the rotor
shaft.
4.
Unscrew one of the two cover and spacer
rings [49, Fig. I] from the multi‐disc rods
[50, Fig. I]
5.
Pull the milling discs and spacers from the
multi‐disc rods, clean them and check their func
tioning and condition.
Due to wear, the milling discs and the spacers
are reduced in diameter and get narrower.
If the free lateral total gap on all of the multi‐disc
rods is greater than 8 mm per multi‐disc rod,
additional spacers need to be mounted on all
multi‐disc rods.
Danger of imbalance!
Each multi‐disc rod has to be equipped with the
same number of milling discs and spacers.
6.
Clean the milling rotor, multi‐disc rods, milling
discs [51, Fig. I] and spacers [52, Fig. I].
All milling discs should move easily.
22
The movement of the milling discs wears down
the multi‐disc rods and wear tracks develop.
The manufacturer recommends also renewing
all the multi‐disc rods whenever the milling discs
are replaced. This avoids excessive wear of the
bearing bushes in the milling rotor.
If the diameter of a multi‐disc rod becomes less
than 19 mm, then all multi‐disc rods need to be
renewed.
Risk of damage due to worn multi‐disc rods!
Multi‐disc rods that are excessively worn can
break and cause significant damages.
7.
Install new multi‐disc rods if necessary.
8.
Screw the cover ring onto the multi‐disc rods.
Due to the knocking movements, the bearing
bushes of the milling rotor can knock out.
When a bearing bush of the milling rotor has
been knocked out to an oval shape (max.
21 mm), both need to be replaced.
When a bearing bush of the milling rotor has
been ground through, the milling rotor needs to
be replaced.
9.
Push a new, different or repaired milling rotor all
the way onto the rotor shaft.
Available are the standard milling rotor (717030)
and the fine milling rotor 717031, each with ap
propriate equipment.
10. Push the bearing plate onto the rotor shaft and
screw tight.

4.3 Checking electrical components

Only suitably knowledgeable, qualified profes
sional electricians may perform work on any
electrical parts of the machine!
Risk of fire due to faulty electrical cables! Check
the mains cable and power plug regularly for
functional safety.

4.4 Customer service and spare parts

Only manufacturer's original replacement parts
may be used.
In case of customer service queries, replacement
parts or repairs, please contact the manufacturer. To
ensure your queries are dealt with as quickly as pos
sible, always quote your machine data (type, fea
tures).
