7 Troubleshooting
Only suitably knowledgeable, qualified
professional technicians may perform repairs on
the machine!
Observe the safety instructions in Chapter 2.
Malfunction Cause
The drive motor BEF 320EX:
does not start. The pins in the power plug are
incorrectly polarised.
The rotary bea­
con [23] lights up
red.
The drive motor BEF 320EX:
does not start. The voltage supply has not been
properly connected.
BEF 320EX:
The connecting cable is defec­
tive.
BEF 320VX
The EMERGENCY STOP button
has been pressed or the safety
line was actuated.

Rectification
1. Turn the drive switch [24, Fig. D] to f and
disconnect the mains [26, Fig. D].
2. Turn the pole reverser [27, Fig. D] 180° with a
suitable screwdriver.
The pole reverser engages.
3. Put the machine into operation
(! Chapter 3.1 – page 19).
Join the connecting cable (extension cable) with a
regular power socket and plug the connecting cable's
coupling into the power plug [26, Fig. D].
Replace the connecting cable.

1. End operation (! Chapter 3.3 ‐ page 20).
2. Determine the cause for the emergency stop
and rectify if necessary.
3. Release the EMERGENCY STOP button or
mount the safety peg with the safety line
(! Chapter 3.1 – page 19).
Tighten the pump belt (! Chapter 4.1 – page 21).
Clean or replace the milling discs
(! Chapter 4.2 – page 22).
Lower the milling rotor (! Chapter 3.2 ‐ page 19).
Replace the multi‐disc rod.
Correct the equipping of the milling rotor
(! Chapter 4.2 – page 22).
Replace the milling rotor bearing.
Tighten the mill belt (! Chapter 4.1 ‐ page 21).
