Installation and connection

Please observe the chapter "Safety instructions"!
The motion detector must be installed only when it is voltage-free. It is not
sufficient to just turn off the light switch!
First switch off all poles of the mains supply by removing the fuse or switch-
ing off at the circuit breaker and then also switch off the associated residual
current circuit breaker. Secure it against unauthorised reconnection, e.g.,
with a danger sign.
Check that the mains cable is free of current e.g. with an appropriate tester.
• The product is intended for mounting on a vertical wall.
The mounting height should be about 2 to a maximum of
3 m.
• Only the arrangement on the wall shown on the right is
permitted as the mounting position (the arrow indicates
the "top").
• Make sure you fix the motion detector to a solid base,
e.g. masonry. Use screws and, if necessary, screw an-
chors that are suitable for the surface.
• The motion detector must be installed such that it is out
of the reach of children.
• Start the installation by removing the cover (2). To do
this, unscrew the single screw (1) on the front side. The cover (2) may be subse-
quently removed (pull to the front).
• Mark the mounting position on the wall through the mounting holes (11). Drill the cor-
responding holes for the dowels depending on the wall quality.
Caution!
Pay attention when drilling and tightening the screws that no cables or pipes
are damaged!
• Slightly pierce the rubber seal (10) on the back of the motion detector; pass the
cables through the rubber seal.
• Tighten the motion detector using two suitable screws.
• Remove the insulation on the mains cable and the connection cable connected to
the load.
• Slacken the cable relief (5).
• Connect the mains cable and the cable to the
load using the screw terminals (3) in the motion
detector.
You will find the label for the pin assignment (4)
next to the screw terminals.

Protective conductor
The protective conductor (PE, yellow-green wire) is not connected to the
detector as it is not needed there.
However, if the incoming line (mains lead) and the outgoing line features (to
the load, such as a lamp) have a protective conductor, then they must be con-
nected to the appropriate screw terminal.
• Fasten the cable to the cable relief (5).
• Replace the cover (2) properly and secure it with the screw (1) that you removed
earlier.
• Align the PIR sensor to the desired range of monitoring. For this purpose, the sensor
head can be turned to the left and right.
Should the sensor head be tilted up and down, loosen the locking screw (6) by turn-
ing it slightly to the left anticlockwise. Once the sensor head is aligned, turn the
locking screw (6) clockwise to the right to fix the sensor head.
• Set the dials as follows For commissioning or a functional test
(if you want to test the detection range of the PIR sensor) (see
picture on the right):
- Turn "LUX" (7) dial clockwise to the right towards the sun
symbol (motion detector also works during the day and switches the connected
load on/off)
- Turn the "TIME" (8) dial anticlockwise o the left towards "-" position (short power-
up time)
- Turn the "SENS" (9) dial clockwise to the right towards the "+" position (high sen-
sitivity)
• Switch on the mains voltage; the connected load (e.g. a lamp) is turned on. After a
few seconds, the load is switched off and the motion detector is ready for use.
If a heat change is now detected in the detection range (for example, if you
pass through the detection range), the load will be activated.
• Make the desired settings, see next Chapter.

Adjusting the motion detector

Dial "LUX" (brightness setting)
This "LUX" (7) dial allows the switching threshold to be set, i.e. the ambient brightness
at which the motion switch is activated.
Turning the dial counter-clockwise to the left, in direction of the moon symbol, means
the motion detector activates when it is darker; turning it to the right, in direction of the
sun symbol, activates the motion detector in brighter conditions.
Dial "TIME" (power-up time)
With the "TIME" dial (8), the power-up time for the output "A" of the motion detector
can be set. Turning to the left anticlockwise (towards "-") reduces the power-up time
of the connected load, while turning to the right clockwise (towards "+") extends it. It
is possible to set a time from about 10 seconds to 7 minutes.
If motion is detected again during the power-up time, the power-up time of
the connected load restarts.
Dial "SENS" (sensitivity)
This "SENS" (9) dial is used to set the level of changes in temperature from which a
switching process is triggered.
Turning to the right clockwise (towards "+") activates the motion detector even for
small heat changes (high sensitivity), while turning to the left anticlockwise (towards
"-") only for larger changes (low sensitivity).
With this function, you can also control the range of the PIR sensor (e.g., a person who
walks through the monitoring area is recognised only at a closer proximity to the PIR
sensor if the sensitivity is reduced).

Maintenance and cleaning

The product is maintenance-free. Repair or maintenance work must be carried out
by a specialist.
You can use a clean, dry, soft cloth for cleaning. Do not press too hard on the lens of
the PIR sensor.
Do not use aggressive, chemical or scouring cleaning agents, as this may lead to dis-
colouration or changes in the material on the surface.
Disposal
The product must not be disposed of in the household waste.
Dispose of the product at the end of its serviceable life in accordance with
the current statutory requirements; e.g., return it to any suitable collection
point.
